I never met Malcolm Livingston or knew him at all, the only conection is that we wore the same uniform. Seems a sad end to a life of a man who served his country and monarch.

A sad indictment of those who call upon our brave Services, yet fail to respond in their time of need.
We should hang our head in shame, when viewed alongside current activities.
R.I.P Malcolm. 😔

Sadly, having had a 'celebrity' role in an event is neither a safeguard against the perils of addiction (he seems to have been an alcoholic) nor a guarantee of getting the right support from society and those representatives of society who are supposed to help.
Over the years in uniform, I guess we all knew individuals with an over-reliance upon alcohol even whilst serving. How much help did they get then? I'll warrant they got even less when they went outside.

It's all very sad and my sympathies go to his family who seem to have done as much as they could for a troubled individual.
RIP.
