Best bit of towing I ever seen was on 43 (1984ish) in the Phantom days. Insties had a compass prob. They tried everything, but to no avail. So they decided that the only way to check this out was to tow the jet, in a circle. Tow a hutchin, in a circle, power cable attached to the jet.

So you ended up with a tractor towing a jet with a l/r towing the hutchin (Connected and power applied) in circles, in perfect synchronisation for about 20 mins.

(For those who want to know the what the problem was.... A/C arrived back from athens with reported problem...... magnetic screws on the detector covers).:raf:
