Would have thought after the RGJ and the Tour rep murder they would have learned, but not this lot. UN problem now.

Another "ISOLATED" incident and not a measure of the current military climate at all. "ISOLATED" incident.....................

Wait for this good nugget to be released: "An MOD spokesmen said this is an ISOLATED incident and in no-way reflects the high standards of discipline in the military...blah blah blah..........."

[Well until the next embarrassing story comes out that is].

A few things a tad odd about the whole report of the incident.

"An Army vicar was punched to the ground in the vicious brawl" Army vicar so the padre was there!! Usually the padre carries commisioned rank in the services so were these bog standard squaddies or a jolly boys day out with the chaps merely showing high spirits?

"Ten 'drunk and ill-disciplined' British soldiers" - "The soldiers' UN vehicles, a white minibus and a Ford Ranger 4x4, were then caught up in a Fast And Furious- style high speed car chase............the 4x4 managed to escape when it reached a UN base, while the minibus fled to the British Army camp at Ayios Nikolaos." So the ten drunks had the gumption to take sober pals with them to do the nominated driving but not to council them about behaviour when bladdered obviously

"But a Ministry of Defence spokesman has said: 'We are confident that UK service personnel acted in an appropriate manner throughout.'

Really MOD spokeman really

It was over ‘damaged jet skis’. That old chestnut, let’s scam them!
SIB will get into this, but we’ve all seen this scam before so I’m not going to go with an amateurish article that seems more hype than fact.
The army aren’t known for going lenient on bad behaviour, and padres don’t tend to be bad lads. Then, who was driving if they were all drunk.
This doesn't add up.

The fact that they are UN and not British make you wonder how they, in reality, go through 4 mile point without being stopped and how they got onto Mercury barracks which they probably have no right to go onto.

I was wondering where Boris's Press Officer had ended up.

Jolly japes, and the jet-ski scam. Damage cost ramped up and a refusal to pay, then "stop us then, were from the UN" comment passed. As the jet-ski owner wanted his £££, he followed them to the border. Went to the local papers as he lost face.

Nowt to see here, jet-ski scammer should be more realistic than £4k to repair his out-of-date / likely very unserviceable ski.
