is there a way to insert a picture off my desktop into a pm or even a thread reply?

In a post, in the tool bar.
Next to fonts is a smilie face.
Next to him is a kind of switch thing with a little down arrow.
Click the down arrow and you get a new box come up.
This gives you the choice to browse ur computer for a pic to upload.

either use the "Manage Attachments" just above the submit reply button or use img tags.

That all seems very straight forward

the paperclip thingy works for posting into the threads but not for pm'ing

You can't in PM's

it stops weirdos posting pics of themselves to strangers
