Operation Bushell- The uks response to the Ethiopian Famine of 1984.
Initially two Hercules were sent to help with the relief efforts. Based at Addis Abbaba Airport and working with the Civilian authories to take grain, blankets, Water, Fuel, Trucks and various other items like tents to the stricken areas Mostly around Axum and Asmara with further drops in Mekalie and picking up from Assab the port on the red sea.
After some weeks of working the RAF Movers were supplemented by The Air despatch teams from RAF Lynham and parachuted supplies in to the area as well.

Geldorf got a (Honoury) knighthood and we got bugger all again !
