Looks like i,m the first most memorable journey was Nth Luffenham to Saxa Vord via Aberdeen with a 8 ton truck.
On arrival Aberdeen thought i,ll just check all ok for tomorrow theres a nice passenger ship waiting should be ok.
On arrival next day passenger ship gone and cargo ship sitting there, my transport along with couple of drivers from i think British Oxygen yes and there tankers full of gas. Overnight crossing playing cards and drinking with crew, Lerwick up to first small ferry which i wasnt told about he wouldnt accept me without a booking after waiting a couple of his journey he eventually allowed me on and booked the other two crossings further north for me. Couple of days waiting for team to arrive i was carrying a replacement tacan beacon, they swapped it called up the air checker it didnt work, bit of fiddling still didnt work. Yes youve guessed put it back on my lorry and i took it back, took about 10 days in all, still nice scenery up there. Who says you dont travel in the services hehe.::/:

Welcome to the Goat, my crappiest journey was as an explosives escort in flat bed from Coningsby to Valley cross country A roads, every butty stop for a butty and a tea for the fat knacker civvy driver. That taught me not to naff the Warrant off,

Leeming to Spadeadam, Passenger in a Bedford pulling a trailer. I have never been more scared in my life then travelling up and down the A19 in driving rain with half the foot well missing from beneath you!

Leuchars to British Aerospace Stevenage... - took 4 days in a Bedford CF... 2 down - 2 up... Wouldn't do over 40... Broke down in Belford near the border - on the way down - and then again on the way back...

Oxford to Leuchars on the train. A suicide on the line meant we were delayed and the journey took 10.5 hours. I was absolutely leathered when I got off

Easily beaten - Weston Super Mare - Edinburgh - 23.5 hours 23/24 December 1975 - no heating, no buffet car - train full of Matelots and Airmen going on Christmas leave... Close to mutiny... (was also leathered thanks to some very generous Matelots!)

Two journies spring to mind both as a passenger in a Queen Mary, one getting wedged between the posts on the old Swindon magic roundabout and the other involved having to have a set of traffic lights removed to allow us to get around a corner in Stratford on Avon. Both involved stuck vehicle. long wait and a Husqvarna saw. Happy days !
