Could someone please tell me how long you have to have been at a unit before you can apply to be posted?

It used to be 18 months but I have a feeling that it may now be 12.

In terms of the precise question, you can apply at any time. However, normal minimum tour lengths are 12 months for Cpl & Below and 18 months for Sgt & above.

Remember:

You don't always have to apply, you could try the 24hr route

If the receiving unit require that person, because of certain skills for example. Then they just got to put a case forward, can happen very quickly if you are special
