Mandatory Markings?

Ok a stupid question maybe but here goes!!

What do you call the set of markings on a military aircraft that have to be there? Eg. No Step, AAES warnings, Danger areas, roundels etc.

Are they known as 'mandatory markings' in the painting world or as something else completely?

They are still called that according to a magazine article on the Spotty Jaguar I read. There is an AP that has all of the aircraft painting regulations, cannot remember the number though.
