Is Smoking that anti-social?

I am a smoker and have got some of the juiciest gossip and closest mates from 'meetings' in the smoking areas. I do think it stinks but I'm quite happy to go outside and do it - so long as I can do it. It's one of the most sociable habits I can think of! And I get to have a fag break at work.

Itisthe most sociable thing to do anywhere in the RAF. Quite a few mates are from the tabbers corner, but thats all in the past now.

I was a smoker for over 30 years but finally gave it up about 8 years ago and I have to say, it was the best thing I ever did. I am all in favour of a person being able to do what he wants to do providing that it does not impinge on my beliefs. I feel that smoking is one of the things that does affect other people and personally I am glad that it is slowly being outlawed.

However, if people are quite happy to stand in the rain and the cold while they slowly destroy their lungs, that is their choice. Personnaly, I believe that the smoking area in my place of work should be moved to Iraq. If the smokers wish to shorten their lives, why not let the Mad Mullahs do it for them.

Congrats on giving up mono. I wish I could but I turn into a giant b1tch when I give up...... or cry a lot. And that's certainly not sociable!
