This might be of interest to our older Techies
This appeal was initially put out for young people but has now been extended to the over 55's - it's my understanding that accomodation, travel and some out of pocket expenses are paid as well as a small allowance
Through a special EU program, Aero Fénix Museum is looking for volunteers wanting to spend one year in Portugal, restoring classic aircraft and learning the Portuguese culture and language.
Travel expenses are covered and volunteers will also be granted allowances for current expenses.
If you're interested (or know someone who will) please contact us at:

This is the latest appeal:
Dear all
From the answers we received to the call for young volunteers (age from 18 to 30), we felt that a similar situation could arise targeting elder people. There is an oportunity for those interested and which are europeans and over 55 y.o. . So, if you fit the bill and would like to spend some time in Portugal, as volunteer, working on the restoration of museum aircraft, please send us an e-mail stating your interest and mentioning any prior experience (or not).
The contact is aero.fenix@sapo.pt
Please include availability dates, technical skills (if any), age, and preferred areas to work on (wood, metal, fabric, composite, etc.).
Thanks in advance and best regards,
