Int Analyst - specialisms and prospects

I'm looking at Intelligence Analyst. My local is Woodvale (611) but they tell me they're over-subscribed and have a huge waiting list. So I was directed to Waddington and have made enquiries. But I'm still hazy about aspects of the role and what it offers.

The recruitment officer said that the two squadrons at Waddington were divided into image analysis and what she referred to as 'briefing' (it was on the phone, so I may have missed the proper title for this activity).

The RAF site describes three branches: signals, operational and imagery. No mention of a 'briefing' specialism. Can someone clear this up?

I've read around the forums on it and regularly come across mention of opsec and what have you, but is there any more about the day to day of the role that anyone can tell me?

I found this video made by an actor from Spooks which shows him having a go at a briefing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9KZUqzNmV8

This was interesting as it was filmed at Waddington, and I reckon I could do that.

And there is this video, which is quite exciting:

Punchy backing track, fast scene cuts from one keyboard to another keyboard to a desk... but then it has a bloke with camo paint all over him and another bloke hanging out of a helicopter. This certainly makes it look good. I'd like to get out and about sometimes, not just be tied to a desk in a dark room.

What are the prospects? What can you get up to, and what can it lead to?

Cheers
