I have done two tours on the Wing and One working with the RAF Regiment working on Rapier which sadly the RAf no longer operate.
I would expect you could find yourself on TCW quite easily if you apply for it whilst still in training. However I would suggest doing your first tour in the"Blue " Air Force to give you a bit of grounding in what goes on, on a normal RAF unit.
In my experience a lot of the guys who came to the wing straight out of training lacked experience (no fault of their own) and also common sense. These are qualities you need when your 6000 miles from home gettinng messed about.
Secondly the working with the RAf Regiment bit appears to me to be a reference to the Bowman mangers who come from our trade but at the moment only at the rank of sergeant. Each Regt Sqn has them and they deploy wherever and whenever the Sqn does. Otherwise the Rocks are pretty much self sufficient with their comms.
Hope that helps.

Thank you all for the information, I'm going into the careers office next week, Not sure about TG4 not sure i can even get in.

I need to bring my IT technician qualification as i do not have a C in a science based subject. He needs my details and then he has to ask the Trade Sponsor if my Qualification will be enough to get me through.

So im not sure what to do as of yet.

Couldn't agree more. Unfortunately the operational tempo needs 'bums on seats' and the youngsters straight out from Cosford are an easy hit.

Some are very, very capable and adapt to a deployed environment quite quickly, some don't, at all. Nevertheless all have to carried to some extent due to just passing out from training, no fault of theirs. The Wing is possibly not the best for a first post. Just my opinion, but I'm sure many may disagree.

when i joined up as tg3, i didn't have the requirement for "qualified" entry, basically didn't have science! Still got through into training, and passed out no probs. With previous experience in IT, i'm surprised they aren't tearing your arm off. Good luck with your careers visit.

P.S, I am on the wing, and will be happy to give my point of view if you want!

Corr Blimey, first you go over to the Dark Side and now you're on the wing, how much worse can it get?

There is a Rockape SNCO BSM kicking about at the moment actually, though most of them are TG4 Sgt's. There are some SAC/Cpl Rockape slots on Regt Sqn's to assist the Bowman System Manger, though you are selected to fill them by the Unit. If you fail to get in as an ICT Tech, and do go Rockape, your IT skills would be of use to your unit, especially when the data side of Bowman is fully up and running.
