Here for a week or two anyway, but this came on the box...

OK, they have a lot more people to deal with in their drawdown, but culturally, they are far more attuned.

Surely, such a site cannot be that hard, even for the MoD?

The Yanks have a track record of looking after their personnel / ex-personnel though. The public in general also show them due respect for their service to their country. We have a long way to go before we are even close to their standards of care.

I agree that it can't be that difficult for the MoD but would guess that it's probably a bit late now though after the latest round of redundancies are nearly over.

I think you'll find that there are a lot of Vet's who would argue the point on whether or not they are receiving adequate treatment. There are a few veterans hospitals that I would not want to be treated at or reside in. there are also numerous Vet's living on the street as homeless bums due to a lack of proper treatment for the psychological or physical damage they received on the front line.

Having said that, YES, the general public do tend to view their veterans with a little awe and are proud of their commitment to their country..

Canadians have the same sort of respect for their military though we generally do not consider them HEROES unless they have indeed performed a heroic act or were killed in the line of duty. I give you "The Highway of Heroes" as an example.www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckfXr1EHO9U‎
