Think you mean Squadron. Doubt you would be able to stay at one Sqn for extended periods as it would have implications on career progression.

As SSH has mentioned already, career progression. AFAIA, Rocks need to get the tours in (For example: Fire Section Leader, Tac Sgt) at each level to advance. Correct me if I'm wrong but it was told to me by someone who has worked alongside them.
So with that in consideration, you wouldn't advance very far staying static.

RAF Regt Career Strategy says that they all move every 3 years; not sure if that actually hapens, but it should do.
Interesting to see if that policy survives contact with NEM.
