Given the recent RAFP bashing thread, lets hear of times when you got one over them, it can be simple or complex but let us know. :pDT_Xtremez_19:

A simple one for starters. Back in the 80's at a secret Norfolk base where the police flight was the biggest section on camp, the intrepid linies of an illustrious "V-Force" tanker squadron would delight in going to duty supper and prior to return tampering with the landrovers of the police who were in the airmans mess. A simple task, move the fuel tank selector from left or right and leave it in the upright position, resulting in the vehicle spluttering to a halt somewhere around the MT section as the coppers returned. MT didn't mind when they had to tell another "LAC acting" the basics of his vehicle, because they were as easily amused as us!!!!! :pDT_Xtremez_19:

This is 1-0 to the techies (although it happened multiple times)

Couple of years ago on a convoy we stopped overnight at the Techy training home in the Midlands. As we were ready for the off in the Bedford, well known for coughing like a tabber on a 100 a day, the driver said when I say now look in the mirror. As it kicked in a huge ploom acrid smoke bellowed down the side off the truck. Then he appears, plod walking through the ploom coughing his guts. And with a knowing smile and a nod we left him spluttering.

Secret Scottish SAR base, mid 80's,the was a fresh faced LAC Acting posted into the dog section.Apparently he was gullible & they got him to stand on the Rover bonnet in the middle of the airfield on the basis that storno reception was crap unless you got higher...

Anyway,My Snec was good friends with a Snec in the cops,a Sgt known as 'Black' Jack.He told said LAC he'd have to learn pistol bayonet drills,so a plan was hatched one Friday afternoon in the Armoury.

We took a pistol slide release catch & welded a old broken SMG bayonet to the catch & added a sling loop.Said LAC was then told to report to the Rock GDT sqn for training in 'Bayonet practice, pistol, combat close quarters'..
IIRC,he made the RAF Police news..

Getting a lift off my cpl one night when we`d had an early stack, got pulled by RAFP who took great delight in pointing out that we only had one dipped beam headlight, the other side was down to sidelights. He was rubbing his hands with glee, right up until it was pointed out his Escort was in the same condition. "You did DI it didn`t you ?"

It wasn't much of a 'one-up-manship', but more of a 'just as I expected' kind of situation when I rocked up at Cartoontown airport as an LAC. The other newbies and I went to the rock section for TAT's and noticed there was a fresh, baby scuffer there waiting to do his TAT's too, the first aid bit. We didn't think much of it, but when the rock cpl took a register of who was there, us LAC's duly replied with 'cpl', whereas the scuffer said, 'yep, here '(in a cocky 'I'm better than you lot' manner). The rock just looked at him and waited for his address..no reply. So he then said, 'why wont you call me cpl like these other new guys?' (I always thought it gave a good impression as an LAC to say cpl, because your new, even if you did get a dead arm after and told to f off). The copper then answered, 'because I'm the same as you! I'm a cpl too!'. The rock exploded, I've never seen or heard so much spit and noise. The copper then had the cheek to say 'I'm only an LAC in trade, I'm a cpl to everyone else', as if he'd earned it over 10 years like most other guys. The rock pointed out that he'd been in 20 odd years, and offered him a 'discussion' outside if he wanted.

The copper was the first in for his first aid test, and he came out with a very red face, and welled up eyes. I'm sure he was crying like a sissy. But as an LAC, it set me up to assume that most baby coppers have a HUGE chip on their shoulders. Sorry guys, but that was my impression.

Both my neighbours in my last two MQ's have been coppers, and are top blokes, so my impressions have changed since then mind.

V. Top Secret Unit on the small holiday island in the Med....Snec Copper was always getting trick played on him especially by is own lot..Was good to see him looking at his bike that had been put over the top of a lampost without a cat in hells chance of getting it off...Then again he did used to sneak up on his dog handlers through the bondu to catch em out. Plain thick if you ask me!!

At an insignificant hampshire helicopter base during an three day Taceval my colleagues and I were told to Mutiny (yippeeee!!!)

So, as it was the mid -80s and Rambo was de-riguer for us military folk, we all tied Bandana's (AKA rags or Kimwipe) around our heads and started "running amok" as we thought consientious mutineers should.

A single Cpl copper was sent to deal with us. He stopped his Escort in the middle of a road and started prattling on about us 'coming quietly', so we mobbed him and dragged him down into an unused BFI Tank where we held him hostage. We'd taken his pistol off him (though we gave it back for him to make it safe) and used his radio to send bogus mesaages.

We held him for about 1 hour before the Umpires told us to stop - - we really made a mess of them (coppers) and the one we kidnapped really got some stick from his "mates". He became a mate after that but never tries to act the movie cop again!
