No good to me, because although I am out soon I ain't no techie, but this was forwarded to me this morning from one of the job sites I am registered with.

Don't forget I want my percentage of the high street vouchers! I think £30 a go isn't asking too much for a referral, do you? Anyway, here's the email I received......

I’m looking for range of Engineering positions in the North West…

If you’re someone with experience with Fast Jets specifically Tornado I would like to hear from you!

The Key Skill Areas I’m searching for:

  • Systems Design / Engineering
  • Rig & Flight Test
  • Mission Planning
  • Equipment Certification and Validation
  • Project Management
  • Project Planning
  • Technical Authors
  • Ground Equipment Support (AGE)
  • Operating & Support Engineers
  • Lead Engineers
Desirables
  • Avionics Background
  • Mechanical Engineers
  • Design Engineers
Are you leaving the RAF or have just left the RAF? Please send a copy of your CV to me highlighting your key skills and the salary you would be looking for!

If this Opportunity is of interest, PLEASE RESPOND BY EMAIL WITH AN UPDATED COPY OF YOUR CV TO s.bailey@jamjobs.co.uk.

JAM Recruitment Ltd is an employment agency specialising in Defence, Engineering and IT sectors.

I would also like to draw your attention to our candidate referral scheme. If you can recommend a friend or colleague to us, who we subsequently place, then you will receive £100 of high street vouchers.

Please note that there will be certain percentage of people who receive this mail shot that will not be suitable. This is due to the search being computerised as we have over 472,000 candidates registered and it is physically impossible to do a manual match. Even though we do use complex search strings there are always going to be errors from the system as it is a free text search that picks up buzz words. I hope this goes some way to explaining why you may receive ill matched mail shots from time to time, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Many thanks for your time.

Sarah

I'm with EngineSucks on this; it's a job aimed at retired chiefs with pensions in pocket and no desire to go anywhere.

Jam Jobs are also touting the following:

Systems and Avionics Roles
North West - Aerospace

We are currently recruiting for a large successful company based on the North West which has 2 positions for Systems and Avionics Engineers to work within a large Team environment for ongoing Defence / Aerospace projects.

Section Leader - Engineering Integration (£25-33k)
You should have the following experience and be looking for a new and challenging career move.

Manage the engineering processes through the Life Cycle from Customer Requirements to Qualification/Certification of the product, from an air vehicle perspective.
Facilitate technical integration of the various elements of the task to provide a product that meets the Customer Requirements and is fit for purpose.
Ensure that the engineering processes being applied to the project are comprehensive and auditable to meet the Project Standards and Customer Requirements.
To achieve all of the above requires close and regular involvement with all of the Engineering disciplines across Operations Engineering.

Senior Avionics Engineer Roles (£29-41k)

Your responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities will include
Requirement definition and correction,
Problem analysis and programme maintenance.
Interaction with software teams and across interfacing teams, inc configuration management and systems test.
Also

To act as a focal point on aspects related to the product software,
To act as Technical Lead with our software teams
Support the relevant section leaders in project and programme management activities.
If you have the necessary experience and expertise to perform either of these role please send an up to date CV along with your availability and salary expectations to

My advice would be for any fairy (dare I say it DF...) to go for the second job. Forget being a producer, with confidence you will find that your knowledge of the "real world" will put you ahead of an office full of geeks.

Did they ask you how much your pension was worth Burglar? A mate of mine went on a factory visit/recruitment drive thing, he was told that wages would reflect how much pension he was paid.
