What ever happed to Commissioned SWO Damian, from Cranwell. Last thing he muttered was he’d be a straight through Sqn Ldr, but I’ve lost track of him.

You can usually find him anywhere near a major Rugby League Fixture sporting his No1's. Old Trafford on 12 October will probably be his next public outing.

If you can get your mitts on one this it's well worth a read.

The way Rugby was ignored, discouraged, marginalized and mistreated by the then 70's 80's Union hierarchy is staggering in today's world.

"He has worked tirelessly to ensure that rugby league......... is given the same official recognition that dozens of other sports that military personnel take part in - such as football, cricket and tennis - take for granted. In the 1980's, military sport in the UK was run on traditional lines. Rugby league was not recognised"

That's just in the armed forces. What they did to French rugby league before and during the war is unbelievable.

You've got to have some respect for the man for him to fight to get rugby league recognised in the RAF and to smash down the walls of bigotry towards the greatest game.

Well played the Saints tonight, worthy winners and credit to massive underdogs Salford for the effort they put in to make it a good grand final.
