Hello fellas,
Got a year left to finish my degree on cyber security. Projected to finish with a 1st and looking to joining the RAF after that. I still have my doubts regarding that, but that's not why I am here.
I am wondering if there is anyone here that is a Engineer Officer (CE) or CCS or at least know the field, I am wondering what sort of the day to day tasks are to each since the recruiters couldn't give me a straight answer, I figured you guys might.
How do they compare? and most importantly, what is more focused on cyber security/hacking?
Also, I've heard about Royal Signals, but don't know much about it either. Is there another field (regardless of branch) that could match my requirements better?(cyber security/hacking/programming)?

Thanks guys

Depending on where you are studying, if you really want to do cyber security/hacking/programming, then apply to GCHQ/MI5/6. There are no guarantees you would do it as a 'CCS' (very limited posts) and unless somebody can correct me, it would be virtually impossible for you to be doing any 'hands on' cyber as Eng (CE).

It'd be hard to get anywhere within GCHQ/MI5/6 because my parents aren't native british.
With Eng officer (CE) I wasn't expecting much hands on but be on the inside and gain that leadership experience so when I get out I can go straight into a managerial position within cyber.
edit: also what do you mean by "there are no guarantees you would do it as a 'CCS' (very limited posts)?"
