Controllers, 6 month tours at Bastion?

A rumour going around today that from June, Controllers will be doing 6 month tours at Bastion. Allegedly, due the time it takes to get some people effective.

Tis a fact, heard it in work today.

Lets face it - Bastion isn't all that bad compared to some of the sh1tholes the boots on the ground have to live in, in fact its positively palacial.... is it REALLY that much of a hardship doing a 6 month stint there?

Not a bite as it's been 23 years since I left TG9 (in the days of AATCs) but isn't the ATC trade (ie WO and SNCO controllers) still in TG9 alongside the FOA and FOM trades?

One trade group, 2 streams. Flight Ops and ATC. FOAs (AATCs to you) come under Flight Ops.

Cheers for clearing that up FOMz. Was a bit confused with the previous not TG9 but controllers comment and thought - with the other thread on combining with the scopies - that the comment indicated that the controllers had moved out of the TG and got into bed with the ABMs or whatever they are called now.
