Read that their business model was to bid so they'd break even on a project then make as much as they can on add ons after the project is finished.

A hedge fund manager made 80million on betting on the share collapse last year.

So much for private being better than public

Pity that Carillion didnt get involved with running a project to establish Lincoln roundabouts half way up Yarborough Hill and in the middle of Silver Street.
That would bring the (SHC)ity to a standstill for years...

Hard to be the cheapest bidder and survive when you’ve got a huge pension deficit.

With my current company half the margin goes to people in the final salary pension scheme and the other half is profit.

Now the hierarchy are saying they asked for Carilion to be dumped from certain Defence estate maintenance contracts 3 years ago.
