Well after the bait was so well laid I could hardly resist now could I sweetie?

But I'm not sure the blokes on here would want to be included in your "WE" since you have admitted to being a raving hom!!! ::P:

SB you always told me I should be tied to the bed not the cooker!!

Now thats unlucky..........

Now thats unlucky..........

Bought a vauxhall Zafira Elegance (top of the range - 6 months old) had numerous problems over 2 year period before I got rid.

Alarm kept going off whether the car was locked / unlocked - problem attributed to power sounder (replaced twice), brakes siezed due to incorrectly fitted calipres (turned out to be wrong type of calipre!!), some engine valve failed which starved the engine of air and made it cut out at jcts, head light bulbs started popping randomly (numerous bulbs replaced - new ciruitry had to be installed), Alarm started going off again randomly - attributed to a pain break in rear glass window. The glass was replaced at significant cost only for the alarm to go off again weeks later!! Finally, the engine management unit died suddenly whilst travelling up the A17 - very scary!!!.

On one of the many occassions that the vehicle was in my local vauxhall dealership I met up with 7 other Zafira owners waiting for repairs of a similar nature who where all suffering from similar faults and who were equally as hacked off as me (some had vehicles newer than mine!!).

Moral of the story if you're thinking about buying a Zafira be affraid - be very afraid!!!! Worst car I've ever had!!!

Not been that unlucky(touch wood). I'm on my 2nd Zafira now, had the 1st for 3yrs without any problems at all. The current one, a 1.6 Life has had a clutch change after about a year, replaced under the warranty thank ****, it would have cost in the region of £500 otherwise. Apart from that can't complain, the new style IMO are far too overpriced, especially as A/C etc doesn't come as standard unless you go for a higher spec model.

the Bavarian wonder-wagon has taken me to London and back twice over the past week (once to pick up Mrs BEngO from Stanmore after a hen-party theatre trip, and once to stand in front of Anne Robison and answer a few questions... :PDT_Xtremez_42: ) and it has affirmed it's place as the best car I've ever owned.

pity it costs so much to service and maintain becasue the OBC tells me it's averaged 55mpg on the dual-carriageway runs - not bad considering I ran the risk of losing my licence quite a bit too (naughty and foolish I know, but fun!).

And I had a 'chav' moment last weekend and fitted a 'mod' (I believe that is the correct vernacular). It is now resplendent with CCFL enhanced 2nd Gen 'Angel Eyes' in lieu of sidelight bulbs. They look fantastic. HID upgrade next...

Did you get any money off her for Nick Lock?

Does she really wear a Penguins Suck T Shirt under that black dress?

Did you check to see if she's a real Gwar?

Where you the weakest link?

Cheers

Yup!! and to be fair the panel was only 5 bolts!! But I figured if I want to own a car I'd better learn how one works... I didn't want to get ripped off by garages.

And I don't do housework I have kids who want pocket money (MALE kids!!)

That would be telling - watch and find out.

Don't know. Nor do the BBC. They'll tell us a week or 2 before transmission - might be as late as October (wimbledon etc)

Wasn't aware that we were raising money, otherwise I would have tried.

No

She's a real gwar... (and dead tiny! 5'1" at most and very slim. - she's also really very pleasant)

That would be telling. Watch and find out.

I wish someone would educate Roverwoman. Just because she has a nearly new car, she thinks she doesn't need to check the oil & other fluids. I tried to get her to change a wheel in case she needs to and her answer was "why? I'll just phone the RAC" :PDT_Xtremez_25:

Think you need to educate her mate! Everyone who drives car should know how to do the basics, change a wheel, replace a bulb(when it needs replacing), check oil, water etc...........

Worst car..Rover 25..had smoke coming out from behind the dash as the loom caught fire. The central locking had faults on it..three times.:raf:
They still would not replace the car. This was all within the first month of ownership. This was the only new car I have had problems with fortunately!

Best car Cherokee..no doubt about it.

Worst - Morris Ital - Yep - I bought one Brand Spanking New in 1983 for 12,000DM.
It was the first new car I'd bought and had to keep it for a year until the Warranty ran out. Luckily all the bits managed to stay together for the whole period. I was happy enough by the engine and performance but the Bodywork was rotten from new.

Best - My current Volvo V70 2.5 TDI - nearly 8 yrs old and all my own 120,000 miles on the clock from new. It has done 130mph (in good 'ole Germany, of course).
Still feels like luxury personified with Seats of leather and suede. It still gives 49mpg at about (more than 70) on the motorways and can tow a rather large Caravan. I'm going to buy another one next.

and why is it when ever i get to a road where you can have a bit of fun on be it bike or car, there they are obliviuos to the twelvety mile tail back they are causing and ruin my day. GRRRRRR ::/:

Best car was my first one, a 1969 VW Beetle 1200cc. Started first time every time and didn't have a days bother from it. Mars red exterior with grey vynl seats. Really wish I hadn't got rid of it especially as I replaced it with, of all things a bloody Ford Escort.

My worst car was most definately a Rover 214 SEi, M reg. It had a leaky back end dodgy heaters, crap brakes and it died a death and was sold for spares on Ebay when the head gasket went. What a dog it was.

Worst car Vauxall Cavalier...........wouldn't start in the cold and always stalling, not good to drive.

Present Car Volvo S60 T S.....nice motor, fast family car but really expensive to run

Best Car: Tie between my Vauxhall Nova GTE, which stuck to the road like glue and was mighty quick in it's day, and the Toyota Corolla GTi 16 that subsequently replaced it, which went even faster, stuck even gluier and was able to rev out to around 7000rpm.

Worst Car: MG Metro. Talk about 'smoke me a kipper I'll be back for breakfast ' I think I smoked every kipper in the UK during the time I owned it such was the black oily cloud that followed it about. Used to use 5 litres of oil a month, had hydro-plastic suspension that always needed re-gassing and when it was it altered the ride height and handling vastly, ate tyres etc....eventually wrote it off ...or so I thought until I saw it with a new shell being driven around lincs....

Now own a Mondy TDCi. Fingers crossed it'll do me pround despite horror stories regarding DMFs and clutches, etc.....
