I am an ex-RAF Fighter Controller / Air Battle Manager that has been working in the United Arab Emirates for 30 years. Although no longer involved in training, I have been asked to source one (or more) high quality retired RAF SNCOs to fill ABM-related Instructor positions at a UAE Air Force training institute
Working at a military institute, the job entails the following duties commensurate with academic and practical training of UAE national NCOs and Officers in the skills and knowledge required to function in the role of Aerospace Systems Operator, known locally as "Radar Operator (RO)."
Briefly, duties include but may not be limited to:
Applicants must be retired UK Royal Air Force (RAF) Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) with at least 10 years’ experience in Air Battle Management operations and should possess a relevant instructional qualification and have instructional experience.
This is a permanent position with an initial 2-year civilian contract that is renewable on mutual agreement. Terms are subject to qualifications and experience and are negotiable but the following minima should apply:

Briefly, duties include but may not be limited to:
- Participate in training the current academic and practical RO course syllabus;
- Update / develop the current syllabus to reflect changes in operational procedures - SAT experience / qualification preferred;
- Maintain, update and develop training packages (study guides, instructor guides, lesson plans, presentations to reflect syllabus updates;
- Participate in the administration and development of theoretical and practical testing of course attendees;
- Prepare individual and group end-of-course reports;
- Ensure course material is updated where appropriate to reflect the current UAE civil Air Information Publication (AIP) is reflected accurately;
- Participate in and manage practical RO training using advanced C2 simulation systems. Create simulated exercises to support RO training;
- Assist in the training of other Air Battle Management-related courses with the delivery of theory instruction and practical simulation support.

- Salary – AED 300,000 p.a. tax free, paid locally (Current Exchange Rate 1 UK Pound – 4.71 AED)
- Accommodation Allowance – AED 125,000 p.a.
- Accompanied status, with Education Allowance for up to 3 children.
