Hand Painted Dulux Gloss Blue Allegro 1300, followed by... a Maxi, a Marina, and a Metro, which I drove to Locking, then I passed out and 'upgraded ' to a Sierra !

Read this article in the Daily Mail, lots of, I had one of those and one of them. did a quick car count, and I have had 33 cars in 31 years. Boy did I drive around in some heaps. I must have wrecked quite a few running up and down the M4 from Lyneham to London. I used to drop a couple of the lads off and then ring round and let them know I was now driving a red shed not the blue one I took them home in. Paid £10 for a car for spares, got it home and it was in better nick than the one I already had.
I had all sorts of BL rubbish, including two Maxis, but they were great for sleeping in when we had a slow night shift. but I did own Fords, Vauxhalls and one volvo. I treated myself to a new car when in Germany,a Nissen Cherry Turbo, looked odd in car park full of XR2s. Best 80's car? Mine was a Mk V Cortina. worst? Anything with a BMC / BL badge.

Lol reading this reminded me of my 80's motors
A ford escort estate in white with a black vinyl roof ......classy
When I wrote off the escort I bought 2 Fiat 126's to amalgamate into one working entity...... damn they would be worth money now
Had my eyes on a Capri Laser but settled for a 67 Bug instead

Manta`s are beauties.
Theres a bloke round corner from me with a couple (white, naturally), and coming out of t`local back street garage a few month ago was a fully decaled up Manta 400, complete with forest arches, etc. Now if that was an original, it`d be worth a few bob.

Another vote for the Manta from me. Had 3 altogether, a '75 A series 1.9 Berlinetta, '78 B series 2.0 Berlinetta and a '85 GT/E. Also don't forget the Pug 205 GTi, Both the 1.6 and the 1.9 were in production in the '80s. Had one of those as well, the 1.9, from 2004 until 2006.

When I was at bruggen everyone tried to sell me a motor, however a mate of mine took me down to Wiesbaden where Americans sold off there cars at give away prices when returning home.

so I bought myself my dream car at the time which was a screaming eagle transam, most fun I had on four wheels, so long as it was in a straight line and on dry roads !

when it was time to sell it on the way home I bought a ford escort, sold the transam for beggar all and was in shock at the prices they were selling for in London, may as well piled up 10k in cash and burned it lol !
