Are Uber popular in your area?

That's Uber X rather than regular Uber so no wonder at the price. If all you have is 'X' in your area I'd suggest the competition is thin hence the ridiculous quote. Stick to a regular Hackney cab is my recommendation.

Anyone had a letter from mobilisation?

Until the goalposts are moved on that one I guess. Though to be fare, should we be in the situation that battered old farts (Ukraine/Russia) are being asked to complete MOD 1/2 once again (like a much swearier version of 'Dad's Army') then our backs are against the wall anyway.

Anyone had a letter from mobilisation?

They know where you live anyway if you're in receipt of a pension. I can't hide anyway given where I work. 😂👍 Edit - My brother who is an ex-fishhead has received such a letter and promptly binned it. He only did 9 so no pension and certainly no intent of anything further to do with the...

Your thoughts on modern cars "safety" aids?

I just use my Beemer in Sport Mode as I prefer the responsiveness. Difference in MPG is negligible if I don't drive it like I stole it but the main thing is no Stop Start in that mode. Volvo's active radar distance bollocks gave me a near heart attack the other week (work hire car). It decided...

    Falklands 2.0

At best 1 Full Sqn to train with, and a few spare airframes for attrition. I can't be bothered digging into it, but even though they are 'well maintained' they are still 40 years old. The Yanks nicknamed them 'Lawn Darts' on account for how often they crashed and I bet the Argentinians are in...

    TG1 Retention again

Unless he's running his own firm it'll either be Frazer-Nash or another who has recently shown interest in me, Jacobs.

    TG1 Retention again

The CAMO (Continuing Airworthiness Maintenace Organisation) will be based at the same main location as the aircraft. Usually (in my experience) staffed by regulars and FTRS. The EA (Equipment Authority) or PA (Platform Authority) will usually be based at ABW apart from the LDT (Lightning...

    TG1 Retention again

Not to mention the roles in a CAMO or in DE&S where there may be the chance to come up with repair solutions. Ya know......like an 'Engineer' may well be called upon to do.

    Army beards

I do like one of the comments on FYB about Pongos fianlly (after much twisting of tits) being allowed beards. 'I take it we aren't getting a Pay Rise this year then?'

    TG1 Retention again

The ones who hung on would have been expertly schooled and corrected by legends like me. You're welcome.

    TG1 Retention again

It was 80 when I joined up before they lowered it to 60 IIRC sometime in the early 00's. And didn't it become obvious.

    TG1 Retention again

In addition to Rocket_Ronster's or Talk Wrench's points. It doesn't remove the element of ensuring that any work carried out is done so safely, and that system integrity is maintained even if it is just in accordance with a set of Technical Instructions (verified by the likes of myself before...

Anyone got her on their list for this year?

    Turkey Teeth

There was some Doris on Instagram a few weeks back, advertising the dangers of Turkey Teeth. Her teeth were messed up that bad that she was in hospital with recurring infections, and about £20k worth of corrective treatment required from a competent UK Dentist. I'm comfortable having teeth like...

    Pulling the plug?

Depending on the make/model, you can get a little bit of range on battery power only, before the engine kicks in to charge. Ultimately it depends on what you want from it i.e., towing, just short town trips, long distance etc. I find the BMW 330i Hybrids quite capable for pootling around town...

    New Accomodation Model

My family unit started using FMQ's in 2012 up until I left the RAF and never heard of that antiquated rule to still be existing. I can't even fathom why in the first place, must of been a real evil bellend to even think it up into policy.

    Mechs and Armourers become one

I joined up as one, so more than happy to take the piss in this way and wearing the DogFucker 'In Dog We Thrust' badge with pride! 😂👍

    Mechs and Armourers become one

What about bringing the Avionics (with a historical link to being dogfuckers) tie up with the Snow Drop Dog Handlers? Whilst sat on the pan loading that month's Crypto Keys into a Buffoon, they can snatch a quick 'Red Rocket' session in the back of the van.
