    Barratt Homes

My gaff is a Redrow house and it is 6 years old, bought from new. Its had the usual snags associated with a new house; as it dried out I got a lot of cracks in the walls appear for example, but I have to echo Busby's point about the snagging service - you have to display a degree of tenacity in...

"Now from the BBC, an in depth Panorama special. Alvar Liddell reports from the Kent coast on the recently constructed "Chain Home" radar stations, investigates if the alledged rise in cancer is linked to the new radar technology and asks "is the technology worth it"?

Has anyone carried out a SHE risk assessment for this Dunkirk evacuation? Are these "rescue boats" ISO 9001 compliant?

But the furlough scheme isn't going to run for a year: it'll end in Oct after 7 months so that will cost £98bn.

They don't have to - the Government will be doing spot checks so no employer worth their salt is going to run the risk of getting caught making people work in an unsafe environment.

    Corona virus

If bosses force people to work and they haven't put in place adequate social distancing and safe working measures, they will most likely end up on the wrong side of the law. BBC News - Coronavirus: Do I have to go back to work after lockdown? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-52567567

    Corona virus

Those are all excellent points; but what are the realistic alternatives? If the Government abandon the current crop of measures and lift lockdown in its entirety just for the sake of the economy, how do we know that that wont trigger a 2nd spike in cases? And even if we did lift the...

    Corona virus

Call me a bluff old traditionalist but I'd rather have the austerity than have the unnecessary death of thousands caused by restrictions being lifted too soon. I note with interest that both Germany and S Korea, countries that had begun to lift their restrictions, have seen an increase in the...

    Lock down you're in charge

Exactly my point; when it comes down to it issues like the banking crisis and this virus should be apolitical - I doubt that if the Tories had been in power in 2008 they would have done anything different to what Darling and Brown did.

    Lock down you're in charge

Seriously mate....The Canary? Hardly an impartial source of information is it? Shall I start quoting from Breitbart and the Mail? You say that they should have mirrored what was happening on the continent. OK, why did Spain allow football fans to travel here for a match? Why are those, who...

    Lock down you're in charge

So without the benefit of hindsight, what do you think they should have done differently? Especially given,, as I mentioned earlier, that their response has largely been supported by Labour?
