Anyone had a letter from mobilisation?

I left in 96 but never had any correspondence from them. At 72 I might qualify for dad's army! Have to have an SLR though:)

Your thoughts on modern cars "safety" aids?

I like the parking sensors and reversing cameras which both our cars have.

Your thoughts on modern cars "safety" aids?

Our 23 Hyundai has the lane assist which you have to turn off each time if you don't like it ( we don't! ) Our last Hyundai had it but the default was off. It has the front assist too but I haven't had any issues with it. We have a 22 Mini which doesn't have any of that but has stop start which...

    Fitness test change?

Extra PT at Halton should work. I expect all get fitter there anyway. I did at Swinderby. I wasn't a fatty and had a fairly active lifestyle and physical job.

Joining the RAF in 1981 at age 16.5 and joining now 2024....How has it changed?

Not a sporty type but had several years day release for college. HNC and degree. Did benefit me in service job and definitely helped in second career. I did do a few expeds in UK and a ski course in Germany!

Joining the RAF in 1981 at age 16.5 and joining now 2024....How has it changed?

The last time I had Wednesday sports afternoon was in basic trade training. ( in 70s!)It had stopped when I returned on FT and PET courses. Certainly didn't happen on operational stations. The station sport players get time off , but not going there!

    Is it time yet?

Laarbruch is a civvy airport. I think Gutersloh is still there but not built on as yet!

    Is it time yet?

Yet they are going to,take 30 odd early model Typhoons out of service! They have plenty of life left. It's daft. They could bin the Red Arrows instead for a start and keep some Typhoons. 8 million ish quid a day keeping illegal immigrants in hotels:( That would help defence and other public...

    Pulling the plug?

Our Hyundai self charging hybrid switches between electric and petrol automatically. Economy very good and lots of power if you want it. They do a plug in too but it has a lower towing limit and costs more. We actually test drove one but the salesman put it in self charge mode as it hadn't...

    Pulling the plug?

There is an MG dealer near us which has about a dozen new ones ( MG 4) I think. They have been there a while. Obviously not selling well. I wouldn't entertain one. Don't like them. Expensive, infrastructure not there yet and made in China. The range of the MGs would do for us, leaving the...

    Pulling the plug?

We have a Mini Cooper convertible 1.5 turbo as well as the Hyundai hybrid. It's pretty quick and lots of fun. You can only get hatchbacks orsmall SUV as EVs. Range is realistically around 100 miles. Apparently pretty quick but more expensive than our convertible. The electric one would do us...

    Pulling the plug?

We part exchanged our 7 year old diesel Hyundai SUV for a self charging hybrid ( Hyundai Tucson). We didn't want to go full electric because of cost, plus we have a caravan. The hybrid can tow 1650kg and no leccy range issues. Most EVs can only tow 1000kg or less except very pricey ones ...
