1-0 full time. England get the 3 points. Senior "Slick Rick" Referee could do with loosing some grease from his swede, seems to cloud his judgment :pDT_Xtremez_34:

The excuses are already out:

England's players admitted they struggled in soaring temperatures in Saturday's 1-0 Group B victory against Paraguay in Frankfurt. - BBC

"We got through it with a win and that is satisfactory in my book." Terry Butcher

History tells us that the start of tournaments is no guide to how they will finish, so it is to be hoped both England and Eriksson improve. - BBC

I'm sure lots of money was made by the sponsors etc, and at the end of the day that is what it is all about.

I see England fans are back to business as normal

Twenty English fans arrested in Germany Sunday June 11, 10:15 AM

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Twenty England World Cup fans were arrested in Germany on Saturday, a British police spokeswoman said on Sunday.

She added that 70,000 England fans were thought to have been in Frankfurt for the match. It had been estimated before the tournament that 25,000-30,000 would be in the western German city.

"We understand there were 70,000 English

people in Frankfurt yesterday so we see a figure of 12 arrests as quite positive," the spokeswoman said.
Twelve of the arrests were made in Frankfurt, where Sven-Goran Eriksson's team won their opening Group B match 1-0 against Paraguay, and eight in Cologne.

Two were for alleged assault and criminal damage outside the ground and the pair will appear in court in Frankfurt later on Sunday, she said.

Four arrests were made at the game, two fans were trying to steal tickets from other England fans and two had swastikas painted on their bodies.

The latter two have been bailed to reappear at a police station but there will be no further action taken against the former pair.

There were also four arrests and fines for criminal damage and public order offences and two for possession of cannabis for which no further action was taken.

The spokeswoman had no details of the arrests in Cologne.

Cmon! 70,000 ****ed-up folk and only 12 arrests, I'd say thats bloody excellent. In a town of 70,000, how many folk would you expect to arrest on a Friday night?

Its also worth mentioning that there were other nationals arrented that night as well.

This....so far...isnt a return to organised hooliganism.

It looks like the police are doing a good job. Good idea having British police in the field.

I agree, its not that many. It all seems good natured so far and lets hope it stays that way. You never hear much about the other nationalities and their problem fans. At least we are controlling the movement of the worst of our idiots unlike Poland who have no restrictions at all. Tigger is a copper after all

Not the best game to watch but in the end 3 points is all that matters. Thankfully T&T held Sweden so a win on thursday should see us through to the knockout stages. Plus all of the games from now on are 17:00 or later starts so no running round in the scorching midday sun.

Remember this is only the second time England have won their opening game also a few games on and people would have forgotten about the manner of Englands win.

As for the crowd trouble? probably more arrests on a night out in Reading.

So its England Vrs T&T tomorrow :pDT_Xtremez_30:

Tonights game between Germany and Poland was alright, feel sorry for the Poles losing a goal in extratime like that.

As for tomorrow I think we'll have a tough first half then turn them over in the second.

Eng 2 - 0 T&T (Gerrard, Beckham)

That was a frustrating game to watch Wound me up no end.

Lampard = total waste of space.

Gerrard finally finally pulled his socks up

Crouch's only decent attempt was his goal.

I feel sorry for Owen as it must be frustrating playing with a team that seems fit to lob long balls consistantly to the opposition. They have to stop that crap!!!! Short sharp passes with breaking runs make good football. That game only lit up for 5 minutes and I'm afraid to say that England will need to step it up 3 gears to be on an even par with Germany and Spain.

Lets hope that the players can up the tempo and certainly up the enthusiam and 'Want' for the ball and world title, as that performance tonight was abysmal IMHO.

I know what you're saying but T&T played a very good defensive game, England were too narrow and yes the long balls were poor. Sven should have put Lennon on earlier, you could see they could not handle him running at them.
However this game will be very different to the later ones where the opposition will be playing to win. Englands strikers enjoy running onto the ball off the shoulders of the strikers, Owens not really one to play with his back to goal. With the return of Rooney who will figure more and more I think you'll see a change in Englands play. Mind you as I've said beford when all said and done we have 6 points 2 wins from 2 and top of the group :D

Shame the Aussies couldn't beat, or at least draw with them...Still, I suppose that it is another thing to take the p!ss out of the Longlookers for though!

You could probably write a book about the garbage they spout, damn there goes another money spinning idea into the public domain.

Felt sorry for the Aussies, they played well, anyone want to ram the refs whistle of the USA/Italy match down his throat?

Well got to say England are being poor atm, I hope for your sake they get it together tomorrow, being forced to support them, as my wife bought my son the england kit. :pDT_Xtremez_42:

Anyway good luck tomorrow.
