Forget inch high PI, he is short and smells of rich tea biscuits.

I would like some discussion on this topic from trade group 3/11 soon to be 4 people, or indeed people who have already assimilated. if there are any out there!

I heard that all the work was going to be out sourced to Bangalor.....after all the BNCC (un)Helpdesk is just a answerphone, no real human beings in there. The Comcen Job has been computerized or work off loaded to others........:pDT_Xtremez_14:

TCO's are now loving the high pay band thinking they are techies, and any techies assimilating to CIS IM just get taught how to suck eggs, polish their shoes, fit clicky heels on their shoes, and wear chip bag hats and stable belts......:pDT_Xtremez_40:

not my job guv

not my job guv

1.No offense to the TCO's out there ( to be fair to you its not what you joined up to do) but do you think you can do a techs job. I suspect there are those that can, but how many accidents will it need to prove that alot just can't.

2.As for the chip hat I'd rather shave my head and paint the top blue!

now how about this if you want a net account you have to read the orders on the net how stupid is that you can preach to the many but the few wont enlist as with all good plans it is flawed and as for the help desk that is automated what a waste of time. it's like send your car for a service and it coming back with the headlights misiing... anybody feel like this about cis now??:pDT_Xtremez_28:

It's just as well that Rapier is going, all the TCO's who do manage to assimilate and end up on a Sqn would be in for a shock. You actually have to be a) Fit and b) Military (oh apart from the 19 year old jaff who came from Cosford having never passed his fit test). It was funny seeing some of the AF's and TC's when they merged with the AD's arriving on Sqn's having spent all their time in CisEng or GRSF suddenly having to work in a very diffrent environment.

TG4 op/maint lol

TG4 op/maint lol

I'm just loving some if the ex TG11 boys that have been newly assimalated. They come back to the wing and think that they can do our job. So being the nice person that i am, i let them try. What a joke, they still don't know their backside form there elbow, BUT still insist that they know as much about the techie job as we do.

Also, veering slighty off the point al little. What is it with the new recuits of today. Do they have an attitude implant inserted into them at Halton or Cosford, or are they just arrogant, imcompetent, ignorant, rude, immature, insubordinate, little pr!cks.
Now please forgive me if i'm wrong, but....do they not teach a rank structure at basic training or trade training anymore, do they get taught how to be rude and no answer back like they know everything, or is it just the youth of today.

Don't get me wrong its not all of them, but it is the majority!!

RANT OVER!!!

Apart from the fact that TG11 have come out of all of this a lot betterer than TG3 ( but then again, their trade sponsor did his job...)

How come then we have been told we wont be getting any '' TG4 - ex TG11 '', cos 'legacy' equipment is a wee bit too tricky for them to get their heads round ?

They either are, or they aint....

Like was mentioned before in this thread.... time and accidents will tell (sadly)

Oh well. back to put some more coal in and tweak a few valves:pDT_Xtremez_26:

and another thing ...

about new recruits..... ''Do they have an attitude implant inserted into them at Halton or Cosford, or are they just arrogant, imcompetent, ignorant, rude, immature, insubordinate, little pr!cks.''

I asked the same thing of a Basic Instructor at Halton, who said, to quote ' we only have them for 8 weeks, it would take a lot longer than that... but I agree with you .... ''

So I asked the same thing at Cosford, to be met with the reply '' but thats how we get them from Halton... but I agree with you... ''

So it seems everyone agrees, but no one knows the answer.

Especially me, who was a mentor for the little scrotes at Cosford - for my sins !

To give some credit where its due, some of the lads are OK (and lasses i guess) - but the majority certainly are not. I think its a lot to do with the recruiting standards that are imposed - or lowered, until quotas are met ?

But thats a different story

Umm...

Umm...

First post and Im wading into a fair old debate here.

Firstly, ex-TG11 will not be fixing radar as some of you old salts seem to think. Not sure where you got that idea but you should get it out of your heads. Ex TG11 will be doing the same jobs they have always been doing - but under a different header and maybe with some extra tasks in there too. Not fixing a sodding radar. I am TG11 and personally I wouldn't trust us with the task. Besides it would make you lot redundant would it not? The reasoning behind TG4 and the way it will work is that you take care of the hardware/infrastructure we take care of the rest - we dont give two hoots about radar, we will never be touching them! the ones touching the radar will be the new recruits going through training and then streamed through CIS Tech. Not entirely sure why you techs have your knickers in such a twist. We WONT be doing ground rader and WE WONT be taking your beloved LDCN off your either - chill out!

Or to put in in words you will understand

ME SOFTWARE YOU HARDWARE.

As for the (un)helpdesks I can only say that it varies from station to station, same way you get sh1t messes and good ones. Its all about who's in charge.

And no - we wont be doing rapier either.
