Is there any truth to the rumour that I have just heard that supply will be civilianised. Apparently TSW and unit fuels are going over to the army as will all OOA posts. Movs will deal with PEPS and be resupplied by civilians in the UK. It's only a rumour, but I believe anyone with more than three years will be given the choice to remuster to Movs or MTD or leave, the rest byebye.

Get rid of the stackers and re-role them to movers? It could mean less damaged frames. Goood Idea!!

Re-role a load to MTD? Great!! They'd drive a truck full of kit to its destination and then wouldn't let anyone have it!!

On a serious note, it is inevitable that the RAF will lose some supply capability to the Army but on the whole most of it could remain intact if CAREFUL outsourcing was made to civilian contractors. But we all know that CAREFUL outsourcing is an unachievable goal.

How about retrain Movers and MT to supply, as we stackers allready do part of their job. (can you train movers?)

Retrading? I would think so. If the rumours are true we face a significant cut in numbers. You won't get retraded, you'll be out the door!

I think that there are a lot of posts that could be civilianised at the main bases. Not necessarily whole trades, but certainly loads of standard support roles.

The whole RAF could be civilianised in the UK, it's only OPs we are needed for and it's only OPs they want to man us for. That's what harmony guidelines are about, if your trade is well within harmony then you can afford to have some slots turned civvy, if not then you can't and that goes for every single non-commissioned person in the RAF, if you hold a commission then you're untouchable and can carry on doing the job of that a more experienced SNCO could do better than you forever.

I heard that Supply will be the one and only trade. Let's face it, we already have Movs and MT Q's, i'm sure we could do the jobs of all y'all...a one man band if you like!! :pDT_Xtremez_42:

If you want to go down that route I'm sure most techies will tell you they have F600's, do their own admin and would rather sort out their own logistics.
We could bin MT, Movs, stackers and HR.

I feel that this is absolutely the song that the MoD wants to hear......dangerously generalised as it is sir, you sing on.

Look, I don't want to see my tax pounds wasted, but you have a sort of personal investement here in making sure you go to the party at least partially clothed....you could be voting for a deeper pile, not a bigger shovel.

I saw an engineer controlled PEP once. After having to sort that nightmare out I can safely say that they can't !

what will this mean for folks who are trying to get into the suppier trade, will i have to start look for a different trade
