You never know, we might even get an Englishman to manage the team when Capello gets the boot!

I can't help but think that there may just be a cultural clash having a wily old Italian stickler overseeing a group of young, rich englishmen. England romped the qualifiers where the squad would have been together for just a few days. Yet they have struggled since Capello got them together for the finals; is this a co-incidence, are his no-nonsense methods too much for players used to having things their own way?
Sven was too lenient at we ended up with the media cum wag circus in Germany, Fabio is the opposite and a bunch of spoilt tw@ts are spitting their dummies.

What gets me are some of the lame excuses and utter bollocks that are now being spewed forth, naming the team 2 hrs before kick off. Apparently Capello has done this throughout his career, (and qualifying). Also his English is not the best, well considering his English was non-existent when he arrived it has improved! so why is it an issue now? As for Terry he ground his axe last night, and really stirred things up! When we do go out I would not let the England team back into the country until the day after the world cup final. In the intervening period between then and their departure, I will send them to the Stan, let them see what representing the country really means and then lets see how bored Mr Terry and co get without the comforts of their hotel!!!!!!!:pDT_Xtremez_09:

Love this quote from the daily mash...

Meanwhile there have been renewed calls for the FA to stick to English managers for the national squad because only an Englishman could have told Wayne Rooney not to display the sort of first touch that is normally associated with a schoolboy who dreams of being in the cast of Glee

So a dodgy pitch tomorrow to add into the mix...should be an interesting game.
Ive no idea how England will play but then again maybe they don't either!:pDT_Xtremez_42:

It all depends on how badly they want to come home doesn't it!

Spain were a joy to watch last night, the first game I have really enjoyed thus far. The highlights of the Chili game looked good too :pDT_Xtremez_14:

OK, so its just a couple of hours to go before England either get put out of their misery or manage to prolongue the agony for the faithful with their car flags and other paraphernalia.
The middle ground scenario is that England draw 2-2 and the USA draw 0-0 leaving both on identical points, goals for and goals against. In that instance lots will be drawn to see who progresses:pDT_Xtremez_42:
Draw lots? Ok you could argue that neither team deserves any better playing like they have been, but after 2 years of qualifying and a fortnights competition in S Africa I'd have thought that even FIFA could come up with something better than drawing lots to determine progress FFS! Even a penalty shootout would be preferable although again, arguably, England would be better off drawing lots as at least you have a 50:50 chance, far better than their track record on pens :pDT_Xtremez_14:

If it does come down to drawing lots then my faith in the England Football team will be destroyed - for christ's sake - if we can't beat Algeria then we don't deserve to go through, and I'll be buying a ticket to Heathrow airport and the biggest bag of rotten fruit I can find...

What this World Cup has shown me is that our footballers are overpaid, over-estimated and full of their own alledged self importance and are more interested in playing at club than national level.....

Well a much improved performance compared to the other two games; but I'm still not seeing any 'world class' football from England.

The next round will really sort the wheat from the chaff, I fear we may be in the 'chaff' section.

yep we should have won 3-0 but they made us sweat as usual.
Vastly improved performance..still thought Lampard had a quiet game.
Not sure how we will do against the likes of Brazil or Argentina but as long as England give their all I dont mind

This world cup is turning into WW2. The French have surrendered early, the Yanks have only just turned up and we are left to take on Germany.:pDT_Xtremez_30:

They have to get passed Germany first. I think they may very well be back on Monday instead :pDT_Xtremez_42:

So I wonder if they'll still be met by Kryten and his shopping! :pDT_Xtremez_15:

Not yet - although I do have some foul fruit standing buy if we fail to beat the Germans...:pDT_Xtremez_19:

Rooney was average, was Lampard on the pitch. Still not a convincing victory and having watched the Germany game they were in another league and even if we had topped the grp we would have struggled against Ghana as well. I hope the overpaid self important prima-donna's do it but I wont be putting any money on it

England have been poor - so far. I think they'll play better against good opposition (No expectation so less pressure perhaps?) and Germany, whilst they have played reasonably well, could be beaten. Best team so far by a country mile has been Argentina, and neither England or Germany would beat them.

Dont I know it! I live in southern Germany and the general opinion here is that they will wipe the floor with us! Are we really that bad?

I live not so far away I guess from VHvH and I am hearing this at the moment.

The we will beat you comments are quite funny - especially when I remind them I am a SCOT :pDT_Xtremez_14:
