Round 5 and off to Spain

Thankfully the travel chaos has been restricted however according to the Beeb it may have caused some delays.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/default.stm

Circuit de Catalunya is raced over 66 laps of the track 2.89 miles/4.65 km long comprising of 16 corners and a couple of fast straights.

However this is circuit is not know for its overtaking and is well known to the teams as often used is the off season for testing. That said for those of us who have followed F1 may remember the master class of Mansell and Senna back in 1991.

This circuit is an indicator of how the drivers and teams are doing wiull we see an improved and revitalised Schumacher, will Lewis get his first win of the season. We will see.

Cheers KQ.

I've got to be honest, I'm not as excited anymore when the race weekend is on it's way.
Is it just me or has anyone else found themselves tiring of F1? We seem to spend so long waiting for an overtake and when you get a few in a whole race it's deemed not too bad!
I dunno about you guys but I watch motorsport to see the drivers race each other. I don't watch it to see nice looking cars go around a track. For me F1 is losing the appeal.
This weekend I watched NASCAR, British Touring Cars, World Touring Cars and MotoGP. They were all considerably more entertaining than F1.

I have a feeling that sometime this season I may even decline to watch a race, unless of course the FIA do something to spice it up.

No probs mate. I'm enjoying it. There again, Ferarri aren't winning. Are they? :pDT_Xtremez_42: :pDT_Xtremez_31::pDT_Xtremez_31::pDT_Xtremez_31:

Australia and China were the best two races in a long time and Malasyia wasn't that bad (if you take the RBs out of it.) However boring processions have always been a feature of F1 (the 80s had some terrible races!), its just the nature of the beast..

Good news for Ferrari..............

FIA approves Ferrari engine changes

Ferrari has been given the green light by the FIA to make modifications to its engine on reliability grounds following the problems it has had in the early stages of the season. Both Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa have suffered engine issues in the opening flyaway events - with Alonso suffering two blow-ups that has left him in particular on the back foot in terms of his supply for the season.

With customer team Sauber having also encountered its share of engine issues, Ferrari conducted a detailed investigation into the matter after the Chinese Grand Prix. After finding out that there was an intrinsic problem with the design of the engine, Ferrari applied to the governing body to be able to make some improvements to the power units on reliability grounds.

Thanks KQ, It will be interesting to see what upgrades are being applied, least of all the effect of Schuey's longer chassis.

Are the bulls going to scamper off into the distance tomorrow, or is anyone capable of throwing a spanner in their works? Forcast is for showers which could shake things up a bit.
The merc is looking a bit quicker and schumi is looking a bit happier. Teflonso kept to his nickname today by getting away without a penalty, though to be honest the team should have had a member of the pitcrew outside to check if the lane was clear. The team have been fined $20,000 for the incident but that is water off a ducks back to an F1 team.
It could be an exciting race if the last three are anything to go by, I just hope it isn't anything like the last couple of years. :pDT_Xtremez_14:

Pole winner 12 out of the last 13 years, doesn't look a good race unless the weather mixes it up a bit, fingers crossed for a bit of rain then.:pDT_Xtremez_19:

Well im all set have found a bar with a big screen that will show the race today, am hoping schumi's change to the test cars chassis will put him in the points (NOT TOO FAR UP) so i can start reclaiming points in my dream team.

Hope we do get some showers that would make for an interesting race.

I'm no expert but is this a great advert so far for F1? The commentators by lap 36 are already pronouncing Webber the winner as Schumacher closes the gate on anybody else abled to make the race in the slightest bit interesting...

Yep very boring race, and sadly sums up F1. Roll on monaco are you insane. Monaco is a glorified parade lap. Bernie has for years threated the British GP over facilities and the fact its hard to get in and out when it provides usually the best race of the year. Monaco is, in a word sh1t and if it wasnt for the glamour and history would have been binned years ago. Lets face it you only watch monaco for crashes because thats the only exciting thing that happens. It was hard enough to lap the Virgin team today, they are going to be lethal next week!

That's the first time I have ever done that.

I didn't bother to watch all the race. I left it from halfway through.

Absolute rubbish, the GP2 was far better.

Monaco next week. I might not bother.

Yeph, I did watch all of the race, but it was dire.. But that is Barcalona. 10 winners from Pole and the usual lack of overtaking. Alonso fans were happy, he got onto the poduim (lucky again) and their antichrist didn't finish (a shame).
