Hi all
I am trying to get in touch with anyone who served at Raf Binbrook in any years of the bases operational life.
I am in conatct with several ex binners people and have also set up a site on the net dedicated to the former base.
There is also a planned reunion for anyone who once served there at any period of time.
Would love to hear from anyone who served there or did any work there if possible .
My email address is swinny74@hotmail.co.uk if you wish to email to me and i can give you details of the website.
Look forward to hearing from any of you .

Radar fitter there around 1977. I worked on the PAR most of the time!
I distinctly remember nearly being made deaf when I exited the PAR cabin next to the runway as a pair of Lightnings took off on full reheat - bugger, did that hurt!

Do I know you? Arrived October 1974, departed November 1978. Radar fitter Gin Palace for most of the time.

I remember being in the Corporals Club one night when QRA was scrambled with its usual window rattling roar. Everyone carried on as normal except the civvy folk group who went into semi panic mode. "What's that noise?". "Two of ours going up to intercept the Russians". :pDT_Xtremez_30:

Up there yesterday. They are attempting to open a museum on the site of the now demolished tower. The company who own all the ex MOD stock parked up on the apron have apparently gifted the land to them and seem to be extremely cooperative and supportive in relation to the potential museum.

The hope is to house the two jets they have there, one complete, and the other, at the moment dismantled.

A quick google of "Lincair" will throw up more info. The entire site is looking rather sad compared to the days when I used to visit. The vandals appear to have been operating in overdrive.

I was a frequent visitor in 78 & 79 - future wife worked in the Med Centre. Great memories of a thriving pigs bar.
