Saw the ad last night. My wife was amazed about it, didn't even know such a thing went on.

I guess we'll be watching that one. :pDT_Xtremez_30:

Also looking forward to seeing this programme. The previous series "Air Force Afghanistan" was very good.

The only problem for me is that they make me want to be involved again which unfortunately age doesn't permit.

I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of old friends. Did that job for a few years and the hours are horrendous and it's very hard work and that was before we entered Afghanistan. The guys doing that work now are some of the most professional people you could hope to meet and show the absolute best of what the RAF Medical Services have to offer.

Looking forward to watching it. Wonder if it will show just the C17s or weather it will also show the medical work that goes on in the back of chinooks and tristars too. and the somber repat flights?

Never even knew this was being filmed.

Off TopicCrap journalism again though, since when has the C17 been the worlds largest military aircraft?

Muchos respect for these chaps and those involved in the MERT side of things.

Much is made of the plane, the C-17 Globemaster (world’s largest military transport aircraft)

The way it says this makes me think they heard it in the docu (we will hear it for ourselves in 10)

Is the c5 galaxy still around or is the C17 the biggest these days?

C5 is still around, but I think you'll find there are 2 Antonovs that are bigger, the An-124 and the An-225 (only one of these around).

Great programme and a great job they're all doing.
I'm sure the captain of the jet is a top bloke i was in MPA with back in 97. A great time down south included a great night in Montevideo for the some of the 1312 det during a Comp A.

Very well put together documentary, moving and thought provoking. A fitting tribute to the amazing job those medics do to get those lads home alive. And like the 99sqn crew member, I can't imagine how the infantry go out on patrol day in and out in the knowledge that there's a very real chance they could be the next casualty.

To the lad who responded to the question, 'how do you come to terms with this' with the answer 'i'll let you know when I find out', what more can you say fella, maximum respect.

Good programme and more objective than some have been.

Your heart goes out to those lads with such injuries.

Many of the medical / nursing staff seemed to be RAuxAF from what those being interviewed said.

Is this a different set-up to 4626 Squadron?
