Hi chaps im obviously quite new here, I volunteer in historic aviation and im wondering if there are any ex nimrod aircrew/groundcrew that are interested in helping us preserve ours in working condition?

PM me for more details as we arent allowed to publically announce that we have a rod until the boss says so ;)

Don't think you could get a Nimrod into Newark (though they did get a Vulcan into to there a long time ago). Good bets would be a museum south west of York or the home of XH558 and PSI320's lot (both who do ground run cold war jet aircraft).

Im pretty sure that newark are getting one. I know for a fact that none of the Raf musems are getting one. Which is fairly disgusting imho

We're not at brunty ;) or york ;)

Andy does post on here, he has a sticky thread running in Warfare Histroy about the QRA shed project at Brunty. Cosford and Hendon not getting a Nimrod!!!! Disgusting (though Cosford are a bit tight on space, and you can't fly one into Hendon). Bet Duxford have got one in the pipeline. Humm who ground runs jets other than Brunty or Elvington??? Wellesbourne maybe??

pretty sure DX arent getting one either, which is an abject travesty!!!

As to the location ;) you'll just have to keep guessing, you'll never guess :pDT_Xtremez_25:

That said, i live in Stratford upon avon. even though XM655 is quite a way away, its like thunder when they run her up :)

I believe that the XM655MAPS crew are up at the Vulcan most saturdays, well worth a visit if any of you are local :)

We all hearing different stories all the time , rumour at one point was 3 were wanted in the USA lol how crazy is that.
XV254 is destined for cutting up soon to be placed at Inverness, 48 is getting stripped the now but no idea what her fate will be.

Its pretty sad seeing them all lined up ready for the chop.
