RAF Kirton-on-Lindsey

Hi all, TG4 trainee here, just received my postings today and im going 1ACC at Kirton on Lindsey.. I know all about 1ACC and what they do (checked the website )

Just need some information on what Kirton is like.. accomadation, messing, gym/pool facilities and best nights out..

Oh and if anyone from 1ACC has any info on how often they go on excercise/deployment.

Would be much appreciated to know as much information as possible

i dont think the TDC's lied to me when i got my posting today.. they said 1ACC, i asked where it is.. he said kirton on lindsey..

but thats why im here... asking for info.. if its closed then where has it been relocated to?

Well done for your well informed post. That's just what is needed - another google warrior chipping in when they know feck all about the base.

Soulman - KiL is parented by Scampers - lots of speculation about the future of 1ACC. No doubt it will be discussed on here more in the near future.

Singly accom for juniors is a KiL, bit of a walk into the village for a beer, pretty decent curry house, Scunny can be a laugh & lots of students in Lincoln. Battle bus to Lincoln once a month. Gym is better at KiL than it is at Scampers. Crow Bar also at KiL for 1ACC social.

According to those in the know, the future of 1ACC is assured in the short/medium term. Where they are to be located is another thing and I know where the ASACS Force Commander believes they may go but time will tell!

Are you sure the gate won't be shut? Although 1ACC is 'safe' for now, it's actual location isn't.

Soulman, if you haven't found out yet you're going to be working on the Radar (If we get it back from BAe in one piece!). This means you'll be spending a fair bit of time back at Cosford on 4001, CSSR & T101 Maint. See you when you get in.

aye i phone one of the sergeants who gave me quite a bit of information. just need to call now on wednesday to ensure someone can meet me monday morning as i wont know where im going

but yeah looking forward to getting there, even though as you say im on a load of courses, 4001 is a month after i get there..
