It's official and on the Intranet, well call me a cynic but, rumours of no promotions for 2 years coinciding with PVR times dropping for all trades ranks etc makes me think they're trying to push people out without paying redundancy.

It is a no cost way of reducing numbers. Very effectice to, people just over 22 with no promotion will go. Those on the verge of tapes who have to wait 2 more years will go. Simple and effective. If i was an outsider, i would say genius. A Win Win for the cost saving.

I wonder if there will be a rush to make the most of the reduced times? At this present time I still can't see many jumping ship just yet, however with the tiny shoots of recovery starting to show how long will this remain the case?

Pulling out all the stops to bring the numbers down aren't they?

What next, no increments for the glass backs and twisted sock brigade? Actually, that sounds like a good idea.......

Strangely enough, at our TG17 brief today, both the Chf Clk and Dep Chf Clk were unaware of our "exclusion". When I mentioned it, there was an utter look of disbelief on the DCC's face, until I logged onto the Manning Website. Tucked away under the "Chf Clk Bulletin" links was a document dated 2 Feb 10, listing all the changes to PVR dates - also listing that TG17 was 6 for WO and 12 for all other ranks.

Believe me, fcukwits was one of the nicer things that was uttered!!!!

Just looked at the document, they must have changed it a it has 6 months "For all Ranks and Engagements" now for everyone.

maybe they need to keep all the tg17 in to sort out all the applications that will come pouring in.
Especially if we are to merge with the Army, like the news said.

Looks like they're starting to get desperate. If we all hang in there long enough they'll have to pay us to leave.

Well said STL, let's just sit tight for now, and force them to put their hands in their pockets to get rid of us... (As an 11yr 2-banana I'd only get 18 months wages anyway, but that's a lot more than the 10k or so I'd get for 12yrs!) :pDT_Xtremez_40:
