That Ferrari looks like a Hamilton smasher to me! :pDT_Xtremez_30:

That's fine. Hammy is just riding shotgun this year.............................!

Watch out. We're coming through. :pDT_Xtremez_14:

Strange that few people are talking up RBR as potential construtors champions or do fellow goaters think last year was flash in the pan?

They were quick right off the blocks last season along with Brawn, but I think both of them looked quick because most of the usual front end contenders were struggling so much. Another Adrian Newey car should get them into the mix, but I believe there will be alot more competition right from the start this year.
I certainly hope so.

Am i right in thinking that this years Mclaren was the one that they were hoping to get last year but chose to continue with what they had and continued to develop this years car further?

No, it's a completely new design as they have had to accomodate a much larger fuel cell due to the refuelling ban.

I am looking forward to seeing how the races pan out with the advent of the no fuel stop strategy, it could be similar to the old days when drivers ran out of fuel with yards to go.

Apparently the top 10 qualifiers may be starting the race with the three used in Q3 if the proposal is approved.
Theory is that tactics will come into it. Harder option gives a slower time but will last longer. Sorts will wear out quick and having qualified will need changing sooner.
It's going to be a season of tyre strategy and who can look after them best.

I am certainly no fanatic but I like to watch F1 and the previews were a right Brucie Bonus last year, I even threw my hat in the ring a few times.

I know it is a big ask for those who write the previews, but surely the tracks will have undergone upgrades and the addition of new teams will make things interesting; and now there is no refuelling will that not make for a whole different slant on each race?

So for my humble two pennorth I would ask the fine chaps who enriched my F1 experience in the last few seasons to carry on in the same vein please.

thanks for your kind comments Jimps, most appreciated.

Fiddling with rules gets counterproductive. I agree with the comment at the page bottom "Fill the cars up and the fastest one wins! How difficult does it have to be??".

Full tank, choose your tyres and away you go. A rough driver in a fast car will not beat a smooth driver in a slightly lesser performing car. The latter stages of the race will prove the better driver.

I remember the days of last lap battles on wrecked tyres, that's racing

You are not wrong there. Prost was a master of it. Schuey is also a master of it. The Macca looks evil. Either it will be a masterclass or another dogs dinner. Macca rarely built two bad cars on the trot thought!!:pDT_Xtremez_30:
