While the prospect of getting rid of these idiots does appeal to me, I can help thinking that the government is running scared of them.

"If successful, the move could paralyse the right-wing party at a time when many at Westminster believe it is on the verge of winning its first seat in parliament with the support of disillusioned former Labour and Tory voters."

I've highlighted the reason why I think they (government) have timed this against the BNP, I might be a bit of a cynic but I wouldn't put it past them to have constructed this to prevent them from getting into parliament with all the protest votes.
This is something I do disagree with, if they are an elected party they should not be subjected to this treatment regardless of their policies, because that goes against the democratic ethos of our country.

What democratic ethos? We used to have one until T Bliar and Nu Labour got in, now it's rapidly heading towards Germany's National Socialist regime in the 1930s and the Stalinist regime of the USSR.

If it happens, it will be a benefit for the BNP, just consider the boost in the polls following the 'Question time' ambush.

Let them stand up, make a case and let the public decide.

Couldn't have put it better myself. We are probably the biggest police state in Europe.

So let me get this right.

Nick Griffin-Opinionated biggot, leader of a significant minority party, with duly elected councillors, MEP's and potentially MP's. Possibility of jail for a policy that is distasteful.

Anjem Choudry-Opinionated biggot, leader of an insignificant minority party, with no elected councillors, MEP's or potentially MP's. No sanction for a policy that is distasteful.

Double standards methinks.

Jail Him

It'd be the biggest mistake they ever make to put this biggot in Jail.

Protest vote a plenty.

Not my type of Party but I do beleive in democracy.

Agree 100%.

The timing is amazing... and could go either way.

It could end up swelling the BNPs ranks rather than making it go away.

But as Labour love to engineer everything I'm sure it will turn round and bite them on the ar5e quite nicely... just like most things they try to tinker with.
