Why do they do it?

When I served in the SAS and SBS I was always told to keep quiet.:pDT_Xtremez_42:

He may not have won the MM or served in Northern Ireland or the Falklands, but he DID actually serve. 3 Years in the Army Catering Corps.

What about you RichP?

Should you really be posting about Walts when you have never served?

Why? Has he ever claimed to?

What is your point.

What is your point.

Not my point and you know it.

***********

I dont fully get your point.

Admittedly RP is not in a strong position to post on this topic, never having served, but at least he has made no claims to ever serving...not to my knowledge anyway.

And I never said he did, my point was exactly that he is not in a strong position to post on this topic so you did get it fully.

My German isn't great, I had to google that.

********

No worries.

Off Topic One of my neighbours totally cannot stand it that my 2yr old Son can speak English better than his Six year old Daughter. what does he expect though, my Son has a Scottish Father and a Bayerisch Mother.

His Bayern dialect is starting to come through a little now.

I own a couple of his books, he makes the same claims in his "about the author" page. I think his claims probably have a basis, but a lot of what he's done is wildly exaggerated. Face it, if the former RSM can't remember you - you probably weren't there!!!

What a ridiculous thing to say...He has never claimed to have served and was purely bringing something worthy of our contempt to our attention...Has your day been so bad that you feel the need to be so snidey?

As far as 'getting' your post I do fully...You come across as a nasty piece of work.

Its tough duty in the A.C.C., I should imagine the Paras and other fighting regiments don't take too kindly to having bad food served to them.

To respond to Wing Boy's comments.

You are right I have not served in the Armed Forces. The closest I have been to it is when I was a spacey and afterwards the selection process to serve in the RAF. However for medical reasons I was dropped at the final stage before going to RAF Halton. If it weren't for the medical problems at the time, I could very well have been into my second year in the RAF by now.

Failing to get into the RAF has not changed how passionate I am about the services at all. My family has a strong background with involvement of the Armed Forces and because of this I seriously respect anyone who does serve (particularly given the demands of today on ever reducing numbers).

What I dislike is blatant wrong doing that could potentially devalue various individual's recognition for their actions. In other words and in my eyes, a WALT is someone who is quite happy to tarnish the reputation of others. Bear in mind that a lot of people in the civilian world know little about the services (or history for that matter), and will happily be fed wrong information by a WALT.

I do hope the fact that supporting those who have or are serving, and also supporting those who gain recognition, does not mean that I cannot express my distaste when a WALT or similar appears on the scopes.

Sorry Wing boy, but you're out of order, to my knowledge RichP has never claimed to have served. So going by your reasoning, the only people able to call people Walts are those that have served, correct?

I agree with Rich P on this
I have never played premiership football but often assault and shout at children wearing football tops
Yesterday I had fun shouting walt and verbaly abusing a Young boy in a Ronaldo Man Utd top
Not only was he hoplessly out of date but he quite clearly wasn't the Portugese superstar and celebrity winker

Carry on the good work Rich who cares what they say?

You've no need to explain yourself, there's only one person at wrong here and it isn't you.

And as for you wingnut, am I not allowed to say what a rubbish job Gordy is doing because I was never a politcian?
