Kimi has had enough...

Was it the sight of him in his shorts and eating ice cream that gave it away :pDT_Xtremez_30:

Looks like the rain has cleared as quick as it came. But they have gone on the side of caution and stopped the race, and gone with half points, its a shame to stop the race because of the weather but I can fully understand that they have to ensure the safety of the crews and drivers.

TBH I am suprised they didn't red flag it earlier when the Grandstand was hit by lightning. Mind you, the decision is made by Charlie Whiting who gave Schumacher a 10 second stop and go penalty in Silverstone 98 ...and let him Serve it AFTER the race was over.

Anyway....that's it, the race is officially over.

Its not a safety thing.

The GP can only run for 2 hours!

That was shaping up to be a cracker. I thought initially that Nico was in with a shout at the top step.

I hate it when races end early. Its a shame they cant just delay it, but then with the fading light.........

Ferrari......sort it out FFS.:pDT_Xtremez_25: Even I sat here and said why the fcuk would you gamble on full wets, at least gamble on inters to give yourself half a chance. Idiots. Its becoming harder and harder to follow the red at this rate.

Half points for the top 8:

1. Jenson
2. Heidfeld.
3. Glock
4. Trulli
5. Rubens
6. Webber
7. Hamilton
8. Rosberg

Only half points are awarded if less then 3/4 of the race has been completed. Has anyone else noticed that for the first time in a LONG time, probably since Burger and Alesi, Ferrari have 0 points after first two races!!!

I know that but what is it with 2nd and 3rd downwards having a shuffle even as going on to the podium.

Thats the position of the cars the last time they crossed the start finish line. Just like at Brazil a few years ago, they take the results from the last completed lap.

Ok, the red flag was dropped on lap 32, so therefor only 31 laps where completed. The positions are decided from which ever lap was last completed by which the leader must have crossed the start finish line (Lap 31).

What took so long was because there where cars in the pitlane, cars spinning, cars lapped, Charlie Whiting and the FIA had to work out who was where for the points to be awarded.

Well, thats one race out the way with.

All I'm left with this weekend now is Touring Cars starting its season at Brands Hatch on ITV4 now. Then Indy Car starts on Sky Sports this evening followed by NASCAR.

Motor racing tastic!!!!

What an exciting race and it was like that even before the rain came.

I have sooo missed this in F1. I think Eddie Jordan summed up this season in his last sentence The big teams are no longer able to spend thier way better.

It's nice to see some new faces on the podium this year. The Toyotas are coming good at long last as are the Williams. Well one of them is at least.:pDT_Xtremez_14:

And Hamilton has dragged his car back into the points! The return of Ferrari to the Italian squabbling mess that was pre Schumacher continues as well!

It was a shame that Button couldn't get full points today. It cost Prost a championship in 1984, the same thing happening at Monaco (although it because the cheating French clerk of the course realised that Senna and Bellof were going to stuff young big nose...)
