RAF at Villa Park

Watching Match of the day there and saw a load of us lot stood to attention when the players were coming out. Whats all that about?

Apparently they were from Cosford and it was a part of the RAF's sponsorship of the match.

Yea it says in the Villa website that it was part of a career drive by the RAF

Randy Learner is not your typical yank club owner. Most clubs have a big money companies logo on the shirt but Villa have Acorns. It's a hospice local to the club for seriously ill kiddies. He seems to think good relationships with the local area are better than dragging in even more corporate money.

Didn't knock Villa. I'm fully aware of there work with charity. I was mocking the RAF sponsoring the match and Harry Staish cracking on with all the free food and wine, but he probably wasn't there so..... Dunno.

Have you noticed the recruitment advertising at the FA cup games as well? Lots of small, well placed posters getting TV air time.

The RAF has full page adverts in lots of clubs matchdays programmes and I know the roundel is prominent in several parts of Pride Park.
