Well, we are now delineated into juniors, members and seniors and a plethora of "officials" with names like moderator, Admin etc. Surely by implimenting a class system is an insult to all especially as no one had the integrity to explain it. Well I had started my membership by deciding to give £30 a month for the E-Goat to disperse. Now you can go and sing for it, what a liberty.

What's the difference between the member status and the tags we are given for the amount of posts we make! None as far as I can see.

As far as I can work out the member status is just an indication of how active a poster you are on the goat, it's not a case of one person better than another any more than the rank status' are. At the end of the day it means fck all so I dont see the big deal with it all!

The goat does a great job in supporting the lads and lasses in far away places, giving them a lifeline to their loved ones back at home. It does a fabulous job in supporting those less fortunate than ourselves. It is a whole library of information,(if you can be @rsed to search for it), and it is also a great social club.
Stop beating the people who run it with a stick, just because it doesn't suit your personal taste.

If you really don't like it, just fcuk off and set up your own website and forum, then come back and tell us how great it is. I run a couple of forums, and I can tell you, it isn't easy, it's hard, ungratified work, and the job stinks.

The people who run this place are unpaid volunteers. They put a sh!t load of time in for your convenience. Please have some consideration for these people giving up their free time to provide this haven for us all.

People do not usually change software for the fun of it. It is normally done for a good reason, and to try to improve the service, (or to cut the crap, and I have been as guilty as most in the past).

Before you had something under your name indicating Line Swine, Rects Controller, Sqn WO, etc to show how many posts you had made. How is this any different?

With a large number of members having reached way beyond the "top" 1,200 posts, something was going to be changed sooner or later.

Having re-read your first post alot slower than when I did a minuite ago, it would appear that you just need a bit of education as to the role of forum administrators / moderators.

Will there be a post or thread coming out soon from the admins to explain what all the buttons lights and gadgets mean? Also the target posts,etc that change from Junior Memebr to member and so on. I'm just intregued as to what it all means, there does not seem to be any logical answer to the spread of juniors to members to activity and so on.

If you change things and people are giving their money to your site to disperse as the site wishes,, dont you think they deserve to be told? A little message?? As a site with 1000's of members of which there are plenty of who donate and subscribe to the site what makes you think that you are so special as to warrant a special note to tell you what is going on!

The Admin and the Mods on this site do a hell of a job and if they see fit to change things then that is up to them.

Seems to me all you want to do is say "look at me I pay for the site and no-one tells me what's happening!" Well go cry somewhere else because you are not the only one who donates to the site and your donations certainly do not give you a say over the running of the site!

I subscribe and to be honest i couldn't give a feck what my status says. I'm just glad i have access to somewhere i can share views with others, regardless of an difference of opinion, without fear of recrimination (altough it would appear too many people in one of the messes at the west mids sausage factory know who i am, i have been warned). If you can't get over a bit of site admin then I really think you need some serious help.

Wobbly, keep going as you are. Just don't lean the site FFS, it'll cost too much and you'll have to do more with less.

AW, whilst I understand what you're saying, and the fact that Septic has got his knickers all in a knot and has argued the point badly, it would have been nice to know.

Wobbly is usually pretty good about this sort of thing, especially about letting us know whats going on, but on this occasion there has been a small but noticeable change and no mention of why or what the new bits and pieces are all about.

MM has already said that he will post a thread in due course to explain what the new bits and pieces mean.

I'm sure this little storm in a tea cup will blow over as soon as he does.

The way I work it out is that you choose to donate if you so wish and then all the names are put in a hat and the lucky name pulled out gets to bend over and take it up the arris and be promoted to member. I'm oh so jealous of SB and GOB DT_Xtremez_06:

FFS get a life. If I choose to pay into something then I don't expect to be told every step of the way how that money is spent. Seeing as those of us who have been around for a while are already aware how the majority of the money gets spent anyway, upkeep and running of the site and generous donations to worthy charitable causes, that's good enough for me.

With your mighty amount of, wait for it, 73 posts I fail to see why you should be singled out for any special treatment. Wobbly and his team of elves run this site, generally quite well, in their spare time. Nobody gets paid and nobody really asks for money except for the usual charity pushes and the voluntary payment for server costs.

Many people are now "Junior Members". Probably, like me, most of us don't give a flying fu(k about it. Why shoud anyone have to justify their actions to you?

I am sure that between the rest of us we can raise your monthly contribution should you decide not to give it. That is your perogative, nobody asked you to give and indeed nobody will. Shouting your uninformed opinions on here as you did will only go someway to reinforce people's opinions of you.

What gives you the right to decide how this website is run?

The starter and owner of the Goat has decided to implement some changes for very good reasons, most of which are boring and web and stats based. As you may also have noticed the changes are still ongoing and the end result is yet to be finalised. They are also pretty bloody minor and if a few stats tacked on your posts offends you then, well, tough, don't post any more.

As for your supposed 30 quid a month you seem to think gives you the right to leap up and down and stamp your feet, it does not. Nobody puts any of that money in their pocket, regardless of what it says above, below or alongside their name. It all goes to charity or pays for server space (which was paid for out of Wobblies own pocket till donations allowed him to keep his own money). You want to sulk, feel free.
