Roll on the Race, Cant wait for the weekend where I am hoping that Lewis can regain some of the lost points from the last debacle.

To upset Mr Masher.

You can stick that rubbish in your own thread!:pDT_Xtremez_25:

But this one will make Mr Masher less grumpy

and it is NOT raining at Monza at the mo and the Finn was currently fastest when I last checked!

It seems Ferrari recognise talent!

This morning's session was wet and thundery. Not everyone took to the track.
It was initially dry-ish until thunder, lightning and rain forced teams onto full wets.
Adrian Sutil got the fastest lap, but this was only because the front runners didnt do a competitive lap at the start.

Kimi was indeed fastest in the afternoon session.
The track was initially damp and all used inters. The track gradually dried out and the sun produced a lovely track temp of 30 degrees. Ferrari tastic, well for Kimi anyway. Top 10 in the 2nd sesson are:
1. RAIKKONEN Ferrari 1m23.861s
2. KUBICA BMW 1m23.931s
3. HEIDFELD BMW 1m23.947s
4. HAMILTON McLaren 1m23.983s
5. ROSBERG Williams 1m24.110s
6. MASSA Ferrari 1m24.247s
7. KOVALAINEN McLaren 1m24.365s
8. WEBBER Red Bull 1m24.521s
9. SUTIL Force India 1m24.669s
10. VETTEL Toro Rosso 1m24.773s

Alonso has said he isnt suprised that Ferrari have signed up Kimi and insists he wasnt in talks himself with Ferrari. Of course not Fernando!!!

So where is Fernando going?
BMW havent confirmed Heidfeld yet...............

The Mclarens were faster on their last laps of the session up to the Ascari chicanes, but seemed to lose out in Parabolica. However it is Friday and of course what people are doing bears little relation to Saturday or Sunday.

If I was Kubica, I would tell the team not to bother with FA.

Qualifying might have been easier in a canoe!

Congrats to Torro Rosso, both cars in the top 10 with Vettel on pole!!!

1. Vettel
2. Kovy
3. Webber
4. Bourdais
5. Rosberg
6. Massa
7. Trulli
8. Alonso
9. Glock
10. Heidfeld
11. Kubica
12. Fisi
13. DC
14. Kimi
15. Hamilton

What on earth were McLaren doing? Kovy proves that they have the pace.
Ferrari look slow though, somewhat worrying for me. I didnt think Kimi would make Q2 and I was proven right.
Forecast is dry though for tomorrow.

Another of James Allens mess ups.........said Sato was in qually. Dumbass, it was Sutil. Sack the fool.

Massa must think that all his christmases have come at once. He should retake the championship lead with the head start he has got.

Similar to Spa in 1994. Ruebens took his first pole that weekend with Hill 8th and Schumacher 16th. The Jordan lead lasted only to La Source and Schuey won the race, with Hill second as the Benetton driver took the **** out of the field.

It was fascinating to watch. The wet conditions would have worried me at 60, let alone the umpteen they were doing. But I have a question, chaps, please. What's the flashing red beacon on the back of the car supposed to do?. I can see it's use in some conditions, but it wasn't bright enough this afternoon to see through the murk.

I noticed last time out that some were ON, others were not.

The flashing red light is, as you suggest, a warning light, used in the pit lane and in wet weather. However you would need a major lighthouse fitted to the car to shine and be SEEN through the cloud of spray an "extreme" wet weather tyre throws up!

All those lights would have been on today.

Mind you, at times today it was hoofing it down. The track doesnt seem to dry out consistently either. Some bits dry fairly quickly and other bits stay wet for ages.
I noticed that during the GP2 race, near ascari I think, there was a puddle still there where some of the track had dried a bit. One of the drivers hit it, aquaplaned and spun. Pretty dangerous.
The drivers progressively switched to slicks throughout the GP2 race, but the poorer cousins in GP2 dont have tyre warmers!! Twitchy skiddy!!!

Hats off to the drivers, as Martin Brundle said, today they earned their wages.

Hamilton takes no notice of red lights though, he prefers Ferraris to stop him at the end of the pit lane:pDT_Xtremez_42:

Through all the controversies, Massa's dangerous pit release where simply by looking out of the cockpit he avoided a crash, Rakkinon's slip sliding around Spa, Hamiltons cutting the chicane, the Stewards complete balls up by suining the result of real racing at Spa the truly defining point of this season remains so far for me was Hamilton's complete refusal to acknowledge his cock up in running up Rakkinons arse in the pit lane. FFS Rakkinon and the guy alongside him saw the light and stopped, Hamilton missed the flaming great stationary ferrari and crashed and then came up with every excuse under the sun for being a plonker. Perhaps the useless tosser should try opening his eyes and keeping his gob shut!

As far as I'mconcerned until he can admit he makes terrible and avoidable errors he doesn't deserve the title or the backing he is getting.

I'm sure he said sorry to Rakkonien at the time. Why does he have to say sorry to everybody else in the world, who had nothing to do with it??

who said anything about sorry?

I don't like the meally mouthed way he tried to blame his pit crew for not telling him the light was red, the way he has never admitted he should have seen that 2 cars were stationery in front of him, the fact remains he is too gutless and up himself to admit it was him who cocked up and nobody else.

To be honest I think he is thoroughly detestable but even so he was hard done to in Spa.

He is a top line GP driver FFS. Schumacher and Senna never said apolgized to anybody in public. He wasn't the only one not to miss the light. Rakkkonien only just relized in time and pulled over by the side of Kubica.
