Here's one to get your teeth in to!
I heard a whisper that all personnel who serve on a 4 month OOA det will not receive R&R! Surely this can not be right…they’re ‘avin’ a giraffe!?!? Right?!?
I know that we currently get around the old rule by squeezing in that extra day so we actually complete a det of over 4 months so we qualify for R&R.
Surely they will have to re-write the rules and the other two services will also have to agree to this change first. The Army probably would agree as they normally do a 6 month tour anyway; not too sure about the RN though.
The new rule would have to read something like this:
Over 5 months (150 days) but less than 7 months (210 days) – one period of R&R.
Or would they go as far as saying Over 6 months (180 days)!?!?.
I am really interested to hear what your thoughts and views are on this issue?
