i saw that being done at manchester airport a few years back...

i know that as i was the one that took them a power unit/steps or summat whilst they stopped by...

i always thought, even as an ex-tonka liney that the RAF and H&S didn't quite mix but that was amazing to see....

i told a civvy airliner pilot about it a while later and he dismissed it completely.. hope he gets to see that...........

Used to routinely go up on the transdecks of Wessex with rotors turning for leakchecks, not to mention replacing main wheels in the hover. All in a days work:pDT_Xtremez_42:

yep, often had to do that. may have even been me on the flight deck. Will have to speak to the lad next time I see him find out when it was.

Jengo once asked me what are the risks involved in standing behind a running prop My repy F**king Loads.
Trust the guy with there hands on the throttles and the outside man.
And yes you can disc the prop (atleast on the K's)
