I happen to know that it was actually a new "secret" ram jet powered parachute being tested by "Them." The theory is that "They" jump out of a herc at 68000ft and using ramjets black nastied to Their ankles, accelerate to just short of mack 2 to penetrate foreign airspace before slapping loads of "E-Goat" zaps on passing 747's...

Well that's what I heard anyway...

I was only talking to the lads at work about that the other day SW. I couldn't remember who was with me on the line that night.

Spooky as hell. A light came up from behind the hanger and shone brightly, no sound at all. We stood there in the middle of the pan and watched it rise and rise and then finally stopped about cloud height. It then sat there, no noise or movement. Then it slowly moved off cutting in and out of the cloud and went over us, no sound.

Spooky as hell.

Wobbly and Shouty, I reckon it was the Met Office Cloud Base Recorder from what you said it sounds about the right area. Basically its a big light shone at the clouds and moved about. A receiver next to it measures the cloud base and transmits it to the office next door to FOMz's (unless they've moved him out again!)...

It wasnt some weather baloon as Im sure SW would back us up on that. Unless someone had strapped a massive searchlght to a weather balloon at about 3 am in the .morning.

Not a balloon mate, but a huge light. Get FOMz to show you...Might be, but I am not doubting what you saw either.

nope it wasn't the light- thats over by the armourery corner and can't be seen from behind our hanger (we were on bay four- surprize surprize) and big lamps don't tend to fly about, and a weather ballon wouldn't move directions so quickly against the wind, not even if it got caught in the downdrafts/ thermals of the cloud. the cloud base was broken and about 1000ft or higher, fluffy sheep cloud (can't remember what they are called!). at first we thought it was the police helipcopter with the lights on, until it flew over us.

I know there have been other sighting of strange goings on here, any other goaters care to share?

Off Topic i think we should make the light into a batsignal....

Wobbly,

What you most probably saw was the CBR light reflecting off a thin cloud layer.

Or it could have been swamp gas reflecting the light from venus that caused an meterological anomaly.

Or you've beed sniffing Tryke again.

Either way, shut the fcuk up - you'll be ringing me next to file a UFO complaint.
