Why are we giving aid to a lot of countries where similar atrocities occur Bit when this one is skint? Maybe it's because, as a race, the vast majority of us have a deep sense of humanity and wont cower to the barbarians. For every so called 'winner' in these scenarios (the terrorists) there are always countless unseen losers. Hope that makes sense.

Erm, probably because if we allow the lunatics to take over the asylum the world in general would be a far more dangerous place to be. These guys weren't state sponsored religious fruit loops.

Plan are an NGO so they do, do it out of the goodness of their hearts, but I agree that gobment aid is given with the intention of future "favours" being granted / asked for.
