Anyone who's been the manager of the Skunks has never recovered from the 'experience'. Mourinho will not risk his reputation with that lot.

What about Alan 'Monotone' Shearer? Let that (unt try.

Baptism of fire

Baptism of fire

Sam Allardyce said: "I am disappointed to be leaving but I wish the club all the best for the reminader of the season and the future." First-team coach Nigel Pearson will be in charge of Newcastle for this weekend;s trip to Manchester United.

Baptism of fire....:pDT_Xtremez_34:

I think you have to look at everton and Moyes to see where Newcastle are going wrong.
The guy is just in the door, trying to build a team, he needed time. It was going to take 4-5 years for him to really turn it around.
However, his brand of Football at Bolton didnt appeal to me but i dont think he continued it to Newcastle. But everytime the centre back played a long ball people were on his back.
If Shearer takes the job how long until they hound him?

Agree.
As i said Moyes at Everton was in the same boat, they are in no way world beaters but he has slowly built a team.

In my opinion 'Big' Sam had 3 things going against him.....

1) Bad results (especially giving Derby half thier points for the season so far)
2) The team couldn't play football!! (you can excuse results if the team could actually string 2 passes together)
3) Chris Mort came out in the summer when Mike Ashley took over and said "Sam Allardyce is NOT our appointment and we'll see how it goes"

All that said, as a Newcastle Fan, I am still disgusted that he wasn't given any time. 8 Months and 24 games in charge is not long enough to turn a team around.

Average time for full time managers (excluding caretakers) since Kevin Keegan is 1year 9months 25 days. Poison Chalice indeed.

Must admit I feel sorry for big Sam and feel he just wasn't given a chance. Sacked after not even a year in charge is a joke. As a long suffering Villa fan, I feel we are finally getting it right down at Villa Park. Martin O'Neil is slowly rebuilding the squad and it does take time! After his first year in charge we finished just off the relegation spots, we knew he was restructuring as did the board and so he's still there now, and doing a great job! The buffoons on the Toon board seem to want instant success, sorry, but that's just not going to happen!

Rumour has it Mike Ashley, the latest pied piper at St Jims, was seen, with his rats, in the crowd mouthing off to Sam 'Yer divent nah wot yer doin' against Derby.

That said the Jawdees want results now and as a Smoggie we except that this will not happen for a couple of years and are happy to take mid table at the end of the season until Sothgate gets his act together, loyalty or stupidty, take your pick

Got it in a nutshell there fella.

Bless the skunks though. Win 2 games and their gonna win the prem, lose 2 and they want to sack their manager.
Clueless.:pDT_Xtremez_35:
