Speak to your bosses and they should get a copy of it.
ACOS manning Trade sponsor seem to have put it together. It has been to a few camps now (BZN I think Leeming and Conningsby and Cosford maybe?)and if you don't get hold of a genuine copy I am sure an edited one will be flying around soon.
It is an official one and has lots of info and also notes on it.

The crunch point for me is the bit which said "CIS TECH CPL - SGT No requirement" and SAC OM/CISTECH - CPL No requirement"
Difficult to take in without someone to explain the slides which is why I think they prefer to try wait to brief us properly and sugar coat the slides with an explanation. Does it mean this year, next year, forever?
If you CIST TECH thinking of the jump to IM to get your 3rd it also states turnaround OOA times so be warned.
Don't want to spoil the surpise for anyone who not seen it and am a bit weary about putting too much stuff on here...
I think there is a need for another TRADEWISE?

So what we are basically saying is we are going back to time promotion. Do 10 years in each rank while the get their fingers out and then get promoted.

i've got a copy of the brief that was given by PMA to the guys a bzn..Can confirm that there is no requirment for Cpl-Sgt cis tech promotion as well as SAC-Cpl Cis tech promotion.

OOA of cis tech SAC & Cpl is 4 years Cpl IM 5/6 years and Sgt IM only 3 there are 113 TG4 OOA/Falklands jobs across the trade but the figure was not broken down by branch!!!

Some of the lads i work with phoned the desk and were told thier numbers for SAC - Cpl CIS Tech 2 of them got the same number??? and were told 23 were being released..not what was said in the brief...also heard today for a guy a strike that they are not signing SAC (T) on past thier 9 year point anyone heard the same???

a little Off Topic and from another civvy techs perspective....
There are jobs out there for ex TG3 types as T93 keeps banging on about and no it isn't a bed of roses either. In my particular field there are plenty of ex 'TG11 types' (essentially network/systems control) those who have shone and got to CCNA/CCNP standard and there is a lot of overlap between techs and former ops. The civvy comm's world though, is overall pretty healthy, there are lots of tech contracting jobs available and many of these do pay some serious wages.
I would recommend nobody does anything rash just yet, if you're a few years away from a full pension just hang on, although while hanging on get studying on what's popular, regardless of your present rank. I got a very healthy career out of being an ex cpl, but one thing the RAF did give me was a damn fine CV. Employers recognise a couple of things about ex forces techs, we are adaptable, flexible and pick up new stuff well. Just make sure you remove the chip from the shoulder before you attend an interview with some kid who wasn't born when you left Swinderby.

Away fellas I wasnt banging on:pDT_Xtremez_27: ok, maybe I was then hehehe

MP is right though. Dont go in with a chip insert. Ive worked with a few ex-British Army Signal Techs who were feckin useless and bleated on to all and sundry how they were ex Army we are the best etc etc. Then went onto prove otherwise!. However I have met some good ones as well, really switched on cookies. Only worked with one ex TG3 AD fella. Fellow Jock by the name of Ronnie Woodcock. He is in Oman at the mo.

Just came out of a TG4 update brief, the future does not look good if your an SAC(T) with between 3-5 years left.
There is no promotion unless you re-muster to IM, then apparantly only the 'best of the best' will get selected.

There is no possibility of signing on unless you re-muster.

So unless fellow techies, you fancy becoming an operator the end is near!

What on earth is one of them? The re-muster is to IM Not OM.

IM = information Manager

there is also a voluntary option for cis techs to re-muster to become an OM. Apparantly this has been an option since 2005, never heard of it before, but thats what came out of the Wg Cdr's mouth.

Let's face it, until the ab initio IMs start comming through, they have to get our skills into the IM stream somehow.

Why they didn't just make us CIS Techs take turns in IM roles (like we already did) I don't know. Would have been so much easier than getting us all to remuster.

Maybe there is some truth to the rumour of dropping the I/OMs back onto the lower payband.

OM's already are on the lower payband.

Just heard this, apparently its come straight from ACOS manning.
1. 10 IM Cpl-Sgt's being promoted at the end of this week/start of next with 10 more following sometime in Jan.
2. At least 20 SAC(T)-Cpl's being promoted at the end of Apr/start of May.
The reason why so few is because of the 20 or so Tossford Sgt's and the return of the lads with the drawdown in Cyprus.
There was a kind of catch though. You probably will be expected to go TCW.
This gen came from a senior officer who was not happy with the way his lads are being treated with the new TG4 and wanted confirmation on where it is going.
There's meant to be some kind of meeting at ACOS with the trade sponsor to clarify exactly what is going to happen and the direction on where we are going? Apparently ACOS were not aware the powerpoint they had made had travelled so far around the world, but they knew there would be discontent throughout the ranks!!
Lets hope they get things sorted for the guys that are staying in.
Can anyone else confirm they have heard this apparent leak?

Mate can confirm that this is a load of rubbish, IM Cpl-Sgt "trickle flow" for the forseeable future. No promotions for SAC(T) unless they remuster to OM. Can confirm that Trade Sponsor was at ACOS Manning yesterday, so if you where close to the top off Cpl - Sgt IM board, probably worth you given them a bell to see whats happening.

Once again this is all reactive semantics. This board that board etc. etc. It seems to me that as someone mentioned earlier, there is no more money for redundancies. So lets remove the last hope "promotion"
They`ll all get pi55ed off and leave, the treasury will be happy as will the MoD.

AFCO Bod. Hello young man can I help ?

Sprog. Yes I`d like to be in that RAF freefall team !

AFCO Bod. Oh you mean Trade Group 4 ?

Sprog. Jeez, no way man , I meant the Falcons ... :pDT_Xtremez_09:

If only they had done it the sensible way

3000 Tg 3 and Tg 11

2000 TG4 Slots

A trade of 2000 people pretty much already qualified to cover most of the new Trade Group 4 Slots so let them do the jobs

A trade of 1000 people whose equipment is all disappearing so just let them trickle out hence leaving the required 2000 people . If people from the redundant rade wanted to move to trade group 4 then let them qualify and got through a full 12 month course.

Promotion ...

Promotion ...

If you look on the manning website it seems that the next Sgt to FS board is looking for 15 ... perhaps rumors of no promotion are a tad exaggerated!!

They havent promoted half of them that were picked up last year, and that's with the amount of people that turned it down as they were already walking out the door.

More smoke and mirrors.:pDT_Xtremez_25:

Finally got hold of a copy of the ppt.

Oh dear oh dear !

Question 1 why were only certain people briefed, do the rest of us not count ? are we already dead ? why did we have to scrounge info about out future (notice I no longer use the word career) from mates ?

Q2 where is the info supporting the findings that all the posts recatagorised as IM do not require techs. Show us the report.

Q3 Why didn`t you speak to the RN about their experiences. (merging tech and ops and then undoing it again cos it didn`t work)

Hope they read this ... You have shown yourselves to be beyond contempt and unfit to manage the trade ::/:
Loyalty is a 2 way thing you ******`s
