With British forces having suffered 41 fatalities in Iraq so far in 2007, including four this week, compared to 29 in the whole of 2006.

Is it time to get the hell out.

P.S Tony Blair I hope you rot in hell for the loss of life and the mess you have left us in.

I for one was very much in favour of going in and getting rid of Saddam but the more this war goes on, the more it proves that there was very little planning put in to what should happen when Saddam was gone.

Yes, this Government (especially T B-liar) is very much to blame but surely some of the blame must go to the very senior Military officers who were involved in the planning of the deployment. You cannot tell me that this was something they had not done before; this IS the second Gulf War after all FFS. In addition, I have personally spoken to senior officers who go to the Defence Colleges in training for become Group Captains, Colonels and Captains and they spend a lot of their time planning imaginary scenarios of going to war in various parts of the world.

If we are not very careful, the personnel in Basra will end up like the Yanks did in the Vietnam War where they got totally trapped and surrounded in Saigon and had to be air lifted out. I hope to God I am wrong but the way the situation is heading, I can foresee the whole clusterfcuk ending up in a bloodbath.

Sorry, I did not want to sound like the Harbinger of Doom; I was just stating what I believed to be the case. I hope you have a safe tour and that you and all the troops come home safely to all your families and loved ones.

Gunnerrock Be careful, the press could have a field day with this thread/poll.

Well thats cyber space free to speak our minds. Can't do it at work but sure can do it on here.

Come on we are sick to death of the sand pit. Troops are getting wasted for what?......... 45 minutes to launch a chemical war head. Antharax to drift across the world? Iraq was better under Saddam.

We have been lucky out there so far (not for some) just hope the luck holds till we do get out.

Free speach yes and the anonymity of it being online, however I do agree with GR.

Don't forget this is in the public view area and the Vultures have a habit of trawling through to find their flesh, we all know how the rabid twisted minds of the press work and they can and do take anything and twist it into headlines to suit their own needs.

All fair and good sayng what you think and voicing your opinion, just remember that some of those opinions turn up in the papers as "the view of the forces"

So what if its in the public area, people are allowed to have opinions of there own that don't fit with the official party line. The clue is in the title "The totally unofficial RAF rumour network" along with the disclaimer that this has in no way got anything to do with HMF's.

I certainly do not mean "keep your opinion to yourself" or anything else along those lines, just to remember that the press do pick up on what is said and it can make the papers and we all know how it gets twisted

I too have to agree with Plumbers post. And besides, Jurno scum will twist any story they come across that will sell the newspapers which are only fit to be used as toilet rolls.

But in the the Broadsheets it will say "X" per cent of the RAF in a military forum, you say what you want, I don't care but an unofficial poll? Well I'm exercising my freedom of speech, I say its dodgy ground.

I suggest you read the DIN in regards to our freedom of speech.

Get home from work:

Wife says "How was your day today?" my reply "Sorry pet your are going to have to serve a FOI act request to the Groupy before I can reply to that."

Seems the shutters are coming down on us talking about the truth in the Forces today. Shame they so like us smiling at airshows and saying how good it is...........

All things being equal I don't think it will come as a total shock to any browsing press that a proportion (size to be determined) of the armed forces are a little p!ssed off with serving in certain areas of the world...

Whatever....

They removed IGS access to eBay easily enough, if were not careful we could be removed. I'm not saying because of this specific thread/poll but a culmination of things.

That would **** it up for all the guys at work, OOA etc.

I see your point but doesnt it just show how Low they are ??, for Any member (or Ex Member like me) of HM Forces to get down to a Journo's level would involve a LOT of tunneling.

Given that the majority of the British public don't support this illegal war why would any journos looking in be supprised that us military types are opposed too? We were dragged in on the back of a pack of lies and over 150 of our comrades, in addition to thousands of Iraqi civillians, are dead. In former times T B-liar would be in the tower awaiting trial for treason. Get the boys out and leave the spams to clear up the mess they created.

Stella fueled rant ends!

with only a month left to do in basra, i for one think the sooner we go the better. we are getting hammered at the moment and it's going to get a lot worse when basra palace closes and we're all one big target. feel like we're sitting duck's being randomly picked off, it frustrating as hell. i am struggling to see what we will achieve by staying other than things escalating further. however, like the proffessionals we all are, we do our jobs and get on with it as best we can. britain should be very proud of every one of the lads who have served or are about to serve abroad because the efforts and sacrifices being made every day are monumental. cheers guys :pDT_Xtremez_28:
